Which opticans give you your prescription?

    Found this was discussed in a previous forum post here:

    Basically - glasses prescription is easy, contact lenses is tricky as they are only required to give you the prescription when they're satisfied with the fitting, which could take months.

    Probably depends on the store. I've had no issue getting my prescription of Boots.
    I bought the first lot of contacts from them (the details you need to buy more are actually printed on the box, so if your prescription doesn't change you wouldn't even need to ask them for it) and then googled to find the manufacterers equivalent to get them cheaper.

    I was told by Boots that the prescription belongs to them and not me. 
    Likely they were giving a free private eye test paid for by them and not NHS subsidised.


    I dont get free tests, I pay for them.
