Recommended thermostatic douche mixer that's relatively easy to fit?

Firstly, I understand a douche (and more specifically a thermostatic mixer douche) is not for everyone. However, this is what I want so I'd very much appreciate if we not make this thread about why I want what I want or to question that.

With that out of the way, I need to get my hands on a good quality and easy to fit thermostatic douche. I purchased one of these which I thought would do the job (https://www.tapwarehouse.com/p/vellamo-therm-douche-set) but the installation of this douche was extremely hard for the works man. He said, the kit did not include a wall mounting plate (which is normal for shower thermostatic mixers). This particular douche sits on the surface of the wall and requires the water supply pipes to feed directly into it.

Anyway, of have tilers that are going to be coming in a few days time, so I need to find a better one and have it delivered before the tilers start work. Can anyone recommend a product that would meet my needs?

Just for clarity, a cold water douche or a basic hot/cold mixer (without a thermostatic mixer) is not going to work. Has to be a douche with a thermostatic mixer.

Thanks in advance for anyone who is able to get me out of this problem 😊

It doesn't have to be thermostatic. You can have a separate thermostatic valve and a douche.

This is true but I'm after a relatively clean look. So nothing with visible metal piping.

A nice clean install like this would be great (but obviously this one is a picture of the douche is difficult to install):

Well, any concealed design will require at least one wall plate. However, with a shut-of valve it'll be two or a double one, i.e. no different from the one you purchased.
Wall plates can be bought separately for a tenner

(not sure that these particular ones will fit you shower)
Also, be warned, the flow is low, so it takes time for the water to reach the temperature you want - depending on the distance from the hot water tank or the boiler and the pipe diameter. If the  basin tap is connected to the valve as well, you can open it to speed this up.

  • 1. A douche is not "not for everyone".  Unless properly installed in accordance with the water regulations it is for NO one.
    2. They have the potential to corrupt the water supply in the property in which they are installed, and to foul the public water supply.
    3. Installing one without the proper safeguards is against the law as well as selfish.

Totally agree with the above comment, a douche must be installed inline with fluid category 5 regulations as it has the potential to cause serious implications to health as well as compromising the quality of drinking water within properties connected to the water supply.

Annoyingly, there doesn't seem to be many alternative douche products with a thermostatic mixer. I've found a suitable product that uses a regular non-thermostatic mixer. It's not ideal but will do the job. Thanks for the help.

Why is a regular mixer better than thermostatic in your case?
A thermostatic mixer can be set to some temperature and concealed/hidden -  unlike a regular one.

BTW, this one looks good in terms on concealing -

From my perspective, the thermostatic mixer (shown in the image I posted on the 6th Jan above) was better. However, the builder said it was a right pain to install and they refused to install the same type in the other bathrooms. I've got a quite modern minimalistic style bathroom. Again, not my bathroom but an image I google search and it's in the same style:

I still want to fit a douche but it needs to fit in with the same style. Even though a thermostatic mixer part doesn't need to be located where the douche is, I didn't want it to be an eyesore. The next best thing I could find was this non-thermostatic mixer.

I know you can get some toilets with built in douches but they cost almost as much as the rest of the bathroom put together.

I still don't understand why any other mixer is better than thermostatic.
And if, like in the picture, you have a cabinet under the basin, you can hide pretty much anything it it instead of concealing in the wall.
Also, with a wall-mounted toilet you have a huge space in the wall that you can use. I think you plumber is just fobbing you off (I have no idea why).

I'm not keen hacking up the cabinet to conceal an ugly thermostatic mixer. As I said, the mixer is not my first choice but it's the only one that's decent looking that my builder is willing to fit.
