Hi 
Our freesat box has lost all recordings and will not record or pause tv. This has happened before but came back eventually. It has been like this for couple of months now I have tried all the usual things. I cannot clean the hard drive either also I have lost itv hub would that be related to the problem?  Is there a repair to these to prevent this?

It could be a hard drive failure in any case it sounds like it will need repairing

You should be able to replace the hard drive.  You will need to open up the unit to see what one it has in there and see if you can buy a new one of the same spec.

If you aren't technically inclined, I'd opt for a refurbed one from Humax Direct, the Freesat versions start at £149.

Will changing out the hard drive remedy the other issue it has with pausing live TV etc

Probably but not 100%.

Price up new/ refurb etc box .

If the issues are due to a failing hard drive yes it should.  The hard drive needs to be working to pause live TV.

Which model Humax freesat box?
There's a know issue where it's the hard disk controller that is faulty and needs repair... a replacement hard disk will not fix that fault.
