Very sorry to hear of your loss, sending you a big hug, do you have any film of him on a camcorder? how about making up a dvd or a photo album of him to remember him by?
Or you could all plant a tree together in your mum's garden.

Firstly I am so sorry for your loss

How about naming a star after your dad? Or as Hippychick say's, make a lovely photo album/montage/dvd"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye."...Miss piggy0 -
Sorry to hear about your loss, especially at this time around Christmas

Was there anything your dad always wanted to do but never got round to it that your family was especially aware of? Maybe you could organise for all of you to do it in memory of him? There won't be any tangable keepsake but you'll have the memories.0 -
Hi just wanted to say that i am really sorry for your loss.
I think the photo/album/dvd idea is great, you could include things like the menu from his favorite resturaunt, the kind of music he liked, memories of what his passions were etc.
Also on a camcorder you could record different people who knew him well talking about what kind of person he was and what they liked/loved about him. More like a celebration of his life.

I am so sorry for your loss.
One suggestion could be a tree to plant or an area of garden ('dads area') where your brother (and the rest of the family) could have some privacy to talk to your father0 -
Not sure how much you can spend, but if on the lower side, Dyas are advertising a key-ring which is also a digital photo holder for less than £10. That might appeal to a 19 yo!
Sorry for your loss.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I don't think it's qute the right time of year now, but you can buy roses with all sorts of names. I bought a rose called 'My Mum' and planted it on her grave. I like the fact that it's there and no-one else knows. I can choose to tell people.
On the day she died, my H took me into town for a walk and I fell in love with a beautiful old sketch in a galllery which was the original for a stained glass window which will be in a church somewhere. I just felt that was what she chose for me to look at - she hated having her photo taken. If you just pick a beautiful object, you can write on a card why you chose that thing - whether it was his favourite colour, or just a feeling you got, they will appreciate it
I'm so, so sorry that you lost him. I don't know how old you are but 19 is way too young, so you must be too

Hi, sorry for your loss.
Right now it may all be a bit overwhelming to think of all these ideas and the right present to get- but all these ideas are wonderful.
I especially like the star idea, since my Dad died my sister and I always look up to the sky and the brightest one is always Dad.
Hope you think of the right thing and take care all of you xMTC's NO MORE PIES MEMBER NO 202 !!!

I am so sorry for your loss

I love the star and planting a tree ideas, but i'm one for believing that the spirit will be within the tree for the person who has passed if you know what i mean. Its a great symbol of a life too.
I wish you and your family all the best through this difficult time.0
