window keys

Our last tenants lost every single window key and they were all left unlocked. Our landlord insurance insists that all windows are lockable so we had to deduct the cost of new window locks from their deposit. We tried to get keys online but you needed codes which ours didn’t have and it actually worked out cheaper to buy complete locks with 2 keys.
This time we have kept all the spare keys to avoid future problems.0 -
Also worth knowing if keys are left in locks insurance can be invalid2

We don't leave keys in the window locks, but we make sure they are easily accessible in case of fire.luvchocolate said:Also worth knowing if keys are left in locks insurance can be invalid
We have a cup hook screwed under each window sill, with a window key hanging from it. I think this was advice from the fire service at some time in the past.2 -
