Virgin price hike - does it allow switch within minimum term?

Pretty much as the question, does the recently announced VM price increase allow subscribers to switch within the minimum contract period?

Are there any providers which do not include (inflation busting) price increases within the T&C of their new contracts?
I think....

I think the contract you agree to includes the annual "cost of living" increases and they wouldn't give you a get out. Most seem to have some increase built in these days.

Found an MSE article on this that says you can :)

Appalled at the 24m deals offered by other companies that include an annual CPI plus 3.9% increase, I think advertising a monthly price on this basis should be illegal.

You can put what you like in T&Cs.  Its for the courts to decide whether a CPI increase in the T&Cs is legal or not.  Considering many communications companies have them now (and Sky have had them for their TV packages for years) they clearly believe they are fine.  Simple solution if you don't like it, don't sign up.  However as more and more add it you will eventually run out of suppliers who don't have it.
