You were stopped in a Skoda AB51CDU, going the wrong way down a one-way street,
The nice policeman took all your details at the scene. Your name, address, driving licence details...?
The paperwork that's come through says it's a Skoda AB51BDV.

And you think this is enough to get you off...
Because, obviously, a V and a U look nothing like each other. No possible easy confusion there.

Try it. What do you possibly have to lose? Except a bigger fine, more points, more costs.
But, before you do, google "de minimis".

De minimis is normally a defence- the infringement/debt is too trivial to justify the action  e.g. my nearside front wheel only entered the bus lane for 30cm whilst turning.

The "slip rule" is the one that is applicable here

I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

So, a quick update on The Legal Advice Centre, after no calls since two last week, which I ignored, they called again today, this time using a Glasgow number and a female caller. DH answered the call and told her very firmly that the insurance has been dealt with and to remove me from their call list immediately and to not phone again. Let’s see if they take notice this time.
