Does it have to be MBNA?
You could go for the new Barclaycard offer and get £20 bonus (instead of you paying a fee) for transferring your balance to them. On condition that you're transferring at least £2500.

I have an empty Barclaycard and the plan is to move the MBNA balance to Barclaycard then move the HALIFAX balance to MBNA. My main dilemma is when to do it? My existing offers end in June/July this year and I'm not sure whether to wait until then and hope the current balance transfer offers are available at that time, or to do all the transfers now even though I will be losing 6 months under the existing deals.
That is the million dollar question and unless you have a way of seeing into the future there is no definitive answer. You COULD do the transfer/s now knowing you will have more than 6 months (hopefully more) to then pay them off OR chance your arm and wait it out and hope you still have decent offers in June/July.

There is another way though and that is to transfer to a different lender from the Lloyds group/Barclays by either applying in say April/May OR if you already have cards from different lenders, use their deal/s. I have 10 cards across majority mainstream lenders and although Barclaycard are currently offering me nothing? I don't need any offers from them as my Virgin, Santander, Halifax and MBNA do have 18-20 months BT, MT offers if I need them and that's the way I stay one step ahead in the card game.

I used to receive balance and money transfer offers from Barclaycard every month.

    Nothing this month.

I do have offers from MBNA.

Who knows what the situation will be like in six months?
  • You know you could just apply for a new balance transfer card when your existing 0% deal runs out.

Sainsburys, Tesco, Virgin Money, and HSBC (to name a few) are all different banking groups to what you currently have and aught to be able to accomodate a transfer from your current array of cards. Once you've done that though you might want to close one or two of the old accounts so that you don't look overly exuberant with your lines of available credit
