Yay! finished up 26/25. I was at 24 on Xmas Eve,drank for 5 days, but stayed AF the 30th and today.Going to bed early,I've never been one for new year celebrations really.I didnt buy any whiskey this Xmas, because if its there I drink it. Well,a family member gave me a bottle, and altogether over the 5 days I got through 32 units altogether. At my worst and most depressed I could drink that in 2 days,so I am quite pleased. I have another bottle, still in Xmas wrappings, which I dont want to open ,maybe till my 75th birthday end of January.I had no hangovers, enjoyed the drinks, sipped very slowly. No real cravings now.I have found that setting a reasonable, achievable target which you can reach with some work is the best way to go. Cathybird has really helped us by the emojis for reaching target, exceeding targets and even gold star full month. Reaching a goal of 10/10,and then getting up to 12 feels great. Trying for 20 and getting 12 so discouraging. So be kind to yourselves.I think most of us here DONT find the emojis childish or silly, they are a mark of achievement and progress. I am just as joyful when someone exceeds a target of 6,as when someone gets a gold star. Several months I have reached perhaps 28 days AF,but really REALLY want that gold star, and have pushed on through the cravings. I'm sure I am not alone in wanting those emojis.OK,January. Could get visitors for New Year,my birthday at end of the month. So my target will be 26 AF days. I will aim for 300 days for the year for now.May I wish everyone a happy and prosperous new year, and a successful AFD campaign for 2023.Happy New Year,Dusty. x5

Hi all, Gold Star Day! Just missed my (somewhat ambitious!) target but that's OK. It's still 351*£5 a day saved!
Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!4 -
Finishing December on 9 and the year on 93/150.
Happy new year everyone and well done to all!4 -
Thanks for the annual totals @cathybird. I'm delighted to achieve exactly half a year! As my floor target is a third and having a three week holiday in 2022 then it's better than I hoped. And I'm still loving my giraffe. 🥰
ETA - I actually achieved half of 356 not 365. Need new glasses or better arithmetic! Still pleased though. 😁4 -
Final AFD of the year and my first dry NYE in probably over ten years. Finishing the month on 18/20
Happy new year everyone!Debt free November 20223
