Thanks all, he and I have never got on and he is aware of my problems with addiction.
@RobM99 you've done incredibly well mate staying off the booze and saving the amount you'd have spent on it in the past; good motivator there. Tbh I think you're bang on with some of the reasons to keep away from it, there's more I can come up with too fml. I've certainly direct experience of alcohol affecting decision making; not a lot of good decisions made after a drink or two, certainly not for me anyhow and a lot of the reason I just decided I'd stop drinking altogether. Realised I don't feel embarrassed or ashamed to say I don't drink anymore, it's my choice and the best one for me and my family. However, I don't find being judged easy and tbh I do wish drinking was less ingrained in our society.
