Hi Legohead welcome to the club. I my first drink since New year, 1 pint last night with my food at about 6pm. I then had a head ache all evening until going to bed. I really hope the 2 are not connected as I don't want to never be able to drink again!

Thanks, I understand that. Have had nights where is just sit down with pints of squash instead.Dexsmummy said:LegoHead I’m no expert and have a way to go myself but I do find having a glass beside me with soda water and raspberries in it or something else non alcoholic helps me. It’s the habit of having the glass, reaching for the glass that seems to help. Hope this makes sense.
So I failed my one day off drink yesterday! I completely forgot I was not supposed to be drinking so had the last of my drink. Now there is nothing in the house it will be a little easier.
So starting fresh again today.
Anyone got any tips for reminding yourself you are not supposed to be drinking?Debt Free April 2023 and now a mortgage free Wannabe3 -
1. Logging in here each day.Anyone got any tips for reminding yourself you are not supposed to be drinking?
2. No booze in the fridge.
3. Alc' free in fridge instead!
4. Chuck £2 in a jar every AFD (Alc' free day) and keep it until there's enough to "treat yourself" with something. Once you break the habit, it'll be easy (speaks for self here).
Money where mouth is - 11 for me, 42/42 this year 313 AFDs in a row!Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!6 -
@ Legohead also get the try dry app for your phone, logs all you units AF days and calories/£ saved. They do nag you to donate money but you don't have to.

Will take a look at the app myself, thanks for the suggestion 🙂 I’ve been putting the money not spent on alcohol towards overpayments to my loan, which is helping me keep focussed. Having said that Friday evening is always a tempting time for me but I have an Olio collection at 8.30 tonight so won’t be partaking in any wine tonight.Coveredinbees!!!! said:@ Legohead also get the try dry app for your phone, logs all you units AF days and calories/£ saved. So on that note I can declare 10/24 please, thank you cathybird 🙏💐
