Morning all, 27/30 and the mad bouncy wavey thing tomorrow. Ooh. 297 in a row, 300 Saturday, oddly. I might celebrate with a mint choc-ice!Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!4

I'm up to 22. Still quite surprised at myself.
Scared of having a drink now cos then I will just go back to drinking too much again. Wish I could moderate, but I can't.
Still, I will just keep going for now. I haven't really been tested so far as I haven't been out. My sis-in-law is staying over on Sat and she mentioned bringing vodka. I haven't told her I'm not drinking at the moment. In fact, the only people I have told are the two pink sproglettes who live with me.
In fact, they are helping me stay on the straight and narrow. Even though I haven't had any serious temptations to drink and I do think it is more a habit (or boredom or loneliness) than a physical addiction for me, something I read recently struck a chord. I'm paraphrasing, but it was something like, "Look at the joy children get out of life... and they manage to do it without drinking." This is so true. Although my 13 year old has tried alcohol, she is so unfussed by it (as obv she should be at her age!), and I just sometimes wish I could go back to simpler times!Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

I empathise, Polly, it can get "just a habit" which I was in but not now. My reasons for giving up I've posted before but we all need our own reasons. No need to justify them to anyone. Just my opinions. Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!3
