I am up to 10 for this month including g tonight.

Almost unheard of to hear of me not drinking on a Friday, but besides me really trying to resist, I’m finding that I don’t really feel like it tonight.

I am still testing positive for covid and it seems to have whacked my smell and taste out a bit, and I’m super tired, but for once I dont actually feel like wine.

Wish it was always this easy.
    Not ideal but it works.
I hope you feel better soon Pollyanna.

Declaring early too for my Happy New Year - being late is obviously at bad habit 😂😂 so 7/15 please.

Sadly I really struggled last night with no wine- Friday evening is still, even though not working full time, my 'aaah and relax' moment and all the tea did not achieve that same feeling. But I did get through it and survive to tell the tale. Let's hope next Friday is easier. I'm not cutting out completely, might be wiser but I do really enjoy wine especially with a meal. However trying to cut down dramatically for the next few weeks, partly to achieve some weight loss too. I think I am happy with no wine on a school night - 4AFDs and 3 days with alcohol seem fine to me as long as the consumption does not go too high on days when I am having a drink if that makes sense. At least this thread has helped me out of the 'oh I've finished that bottle, let's open another one mentality' which was happening far too frequently. Thanks to everyone who posts on this thread and especially Cathybird for keeping us all straight and finding fabulous emojis.
I struggle with that mentality too Maggie, once a bottle is in, it always seems like a good idea to open another.

    I’m on 11 please.

I didn’t drink Friday or Saturday but purely because I had to be up at 6am both days and had to drive. I knew if I had one it would lead to the bottle and I’d be over the limit in the morning. So it’s best not to have any at all. I’m also loving the fact I was able to get up easily, but I did at times miss it during “the witching slot” between 4-7pm. Once I had dinner I was fine.
I don’t intend to drink tonight as I’m working tomorrow. My plan is to go through until next Sunday night now, due to weekend commitments. Not exactly DJ as I hoped but still better than usual.

Morning all, 16/30 here and still alc' free since last April, that's 287 days in a row  o:) (£1,435 in the MR2 fund)  Will I make 300? Course! Piece of cake, slice of battenburg, portion of black forest gateau.  I've found giving up completely easier that trying to cut down. I call it the "sweets in the bag" syndrome.  I'll just have a few,. Oh, make it half. Oops, maybe I'll save a couple. Ah. All gone!  Alcohol is Satan's bile!  >:) (Ooh, I went all Evangelist there. Gets on soapbox as tumbleweed blows by somewhere in Memphis - Oi Horse! Stop nibbling that cactus. "You are doomed, Satan lovers! An eternity of hot sulphur and Spice Girls CD's while you are whipped! A diet of stale bread and stagnant water awaits for ever and a day!"   OK maybe not but the image is at least amusing.
I've even given up mint choc-ices - again! My biggest vice now is LIDL chocolate digestive biscuity-bar-things, 89p for 16!  (or similar).  Right - tea time! Bye all, tune in tomorrow for another gripping episode!
Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!
