Giving Up/Cutting Down Alcohol Thread Part 17

6/25 for me, please. I resisted the offer of a drink at the theatre last night, and honestly didn't miss it.
The play was hilarious, but the "ahhh bless" reaction to one line that was a micky-take had us sniggering. For a Tuesday night, the city centre was heaving. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?5 -
Good morning everyone and welcome Doris17.
I am 5/21 for yesterday please cathybird. Thank you. X

Morning all, 6/29 and 185 AFDs (Alc' free days) in a row now - good job they're not ducks (in a row). Yes, time flies - good job elephants don't! I'll be dangling on that autumnal leaf tomorrow. Tried a Peroni Liber (alc' free) and it was - well, not great but but OK.Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!6

I think drinks in theatres are often overrated @satchmo1. I really don't like those tiny bottles of wine. I often don't bother or have a coffee or an ice cream instead. Glad you enjoyed the production though.
Welcome @Doris17. You must have a good resolve to post so early in the day. You obviously mean business! 😊
3/10 AFDs please @cathybird5 -

(e.g. Being at the local mini-market at 08:05 because they opened at 08:00 to buy super strong lager...)
Oddly though, some alcoholic drinks have an associated image. Allow me to explain my thoughts (puts kettle on...) Picture this - a couple, well dressed, obviously with a tad of "class" come out of an off licence with a £40 bottle of red and a £50 bottle of champagne. Another couple, scruffy, with a 4 pack of Special Brew for £7. Some might think of couple (a) They enjoy the finer things in life while couple (b) are just boozers. Yet the two purchases contain the same amount of alcohol (near enough).
Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!5 -
2/10 for me please 😊 declaring early today as no intention of drinking'Happiness is not a destination but the journey you walk every day'
