26/25 AFDs today6

Good morning everyone. Well done for getting through the month.
I am declaring early and finish the month (Arid August 🏜️😃) on 31/21 please cathybird. Thank you. X6 -
Can't wait for September and start counting. Didn't drink yesterday which is normal for a Monday. The real challenge will come on Wednesday which is usually when hubby wants to get a drink. If it's already today I'll send him out and he can go to his mate's.
Even better, I didn't smoke yesterday. First smoke-free day in years. Well chuffed with that. Again the real test comes over the next few days. Also I got so much done yesterday as I wanted to take my mind off.
That's the other thing. Often I drank to deal with the "overwhelm" where it was actually part of the cause as I lost so much time to do things.
Here's to a good September.finally tea total but in still in (more) debt (Oct 25 CC £1800, loan £6453, mortgage £59,924/158,000)7 -
I am up to 11, yay!
Not going to declare for today yet, but have no intention of drinking.
When I'm feeling in control, I am quite good at sticking to it and I'm feeling in the zone at the moment.
Like others, the test will be later in the week. Mainly when the weekend comes about. I initially said that I would let myself drink Friday and Saturday, so won't be the end of the world if I did drink, but the more I think about it, the more I realise that it is all just a waste.
I don't go out and socialise, so it really is just me sitting at home in front of the tv doing it. And I might as well do that with soda and lime. I think I drink through routine and boredom. When I haven't got my girls (i.e. this weekend), what else is there to do to make time go? But why do I want time to pass quickly, eh? That's another question to ask myself. Just fill it with something other than drinking. But what is that something? As the years have gone on, I seem to have lost any interests or hobbies. I've spent a large chunk of the last decade just bringing up my kids and so I couldn't go out (unless they were at their dads), but now that they're older, I really should find something to do. Otherwise the next 30 years will be sat in front of the tv still drinking away the time I have off work.
Blimey, bit of a depressing post. And to think I started it being proud that I didn't drink again last night. Haha.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Makes sense to me. It takes less energy to "reward" ourselves with a nice drink on a Friday. It takes a while to shift that again to sth we really enjoy. For me at the moment it's easier to sip on a cider while the kids need this, that or the other but it's high impossible to sit and enjoy an hours crochet which in the end I would probably enjoy more, but is also harder work especially when I don't get time alone. Or I'd rather have a nice bath but I can guarantee as soon as I'm in it someone needs the loo. So, yes I think I can relate to your post in a way.
For me it got worse since lockdown as we rarely go out anymore and hubby is a social drinker. I.e. he needs someone to drink with him. I can't remember how many times I asked him not to ask me or not to bring me sth in, once it's in the house I was spineless. I don't really drink when home alone with the kids or get myself a drink. So, now that he can go out again I just need to send him out

Hi all, a perfect 31 here, an AFM (month!) so happy with that. Drank alc' free rosé at the party, (not great!) so no problems there. That's now 148 AFDs in a row. Can I make 150? Piece of cake, slice of tart, portion of gateau!
I did succumb to temptation with choc' ice cream (tres mal!).Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!7 -
Good afternoon everyone,

So far so good. Send hubby out to a pals house as he fancied a drink. Had a cigarette but that's still better than my usual 5-8 rollie's. Very productive night again though 😃. Nearly bedtime 🤞
