Giving Up/Cutting Down Alcohol Thread Part 17

pollyanna24 said:I've been missing again, oops. I'm up to 10, so know I won't make my target, but I'm okay with that. I've done better than I have in the past.
Had a bit of a wake up call. Over indulged on Friday a bit and although I don't get hangovers as such, there are a few blanks and there is the "oh god, what did I do/say?" feeling.
Plus a close family member completely destroyed a family meal yesterday by getting drunk (they are known for their issues) and so it has really struck a chord with me. Why do we do it? What is the point? Not saying I'm off alcohol forever, but it definitely has more downsides to upsides.
My dad and brother are both teetotal for a few years now and I am seriously thinking of joining them.
Still too scared to create a proper target for September yet, but that may change!finally tea total but in still in (more) debt (Oct 25 CC £1800, loan £6453, mortgage £59,924/158,000)4 -

Little bit early but going to declare on 31/30 please cathybird, no chance I’ll drink anything tomorrow so Aug will be a completely alc’ free month. Well done to everyone who has reached or got close to their targets.
Could I please have a target of 29 for Sept, thank you.

Declaring early for tonight Tuesday so 12/18 please for August. Not great although we did have a few days away. However I need to get back to no drinking on a school night for September and also aim to drink less on a day when I am having a drink. I've reverted to previous bad habits of one or two glasses of wine before dinner and then have wine with dinner too.Amazing how quickly I revert to bad habits, wish I was so quick to establish good habits! Others saying something similar so Pollyanna, CuppaTea and Thrifty Lass let's hope we all are reporting better results at the end of September.5
