I've been missing again, oops.  I'm up to 10, so know I won't make my target, but I'm okay with that.  I've done better than I have in the past.

Had a bit of a wake up call.  Over indulged on Friday a bit and although I don't get hangovers as such, there are a few blanks and there is the "oh god, what did I do/say?" feeling.

Plus a close family member completely destroyed a family meal yesterday by getting drunk (they are known for their issues) and so it has really struck a chord with me.  Why do we do it?  What is the point?  Not saying I'm off alcohol forever, but it definitely has more downsides to upsides.

My dad and brother are both teetotal for a few years now and I am seriously thinking of joining them.

Still too scared to create a proper target for September yet, but that may change!
I think it starts to change your brain chemistry or the way your dopamine receptors respond. Like I know I want to cut down because I feel rubbish the next day, am not as present for the kids, cranky, my skin looks pasty and the list goes on. But my brain seems to override that. So, I tell myself, I'm not drinking tonight and I would stick to that as I don't usually go out to buy drink or socialise at the moment. Then hubby comes and askes if I want a glass of wine with dinner and I say yes without even thinking. My brain sabotages me more often like that now. It's hard to explain properly but made me realise I need to act now.  It's as if the brain just remembers the good feeling after the first but manages to totally block the memory of the negative effects tricking us into thinking this time will be different and enjoyable.
finally tea total but in still in (more) debt (Oct 25 CC £1800, loan £6453, mortgage £59,924/158,000)
