Thank you, Sugarbaby 😊 I hope 2022 is good for you and yours too!
Indeed, Helen, but as you say challenges are better than stagnating! I hope everything works out for you this year 😃
No real New Year's resolutions here, unless you count the commitment to spending less on fripperies (albeit irresistible ones, lol!) for the house and concentrate on building materials, decorating paraphernalia and essentials...such as more much needed storage and lighting 😉 If it's luxuries I want, there'll be a birthday for that......
So, today the decs are coming down. It's weird because usually I can't wait for twelfth night - usually because it heralds the start of our next decorating project and this year is no different in that respect. But, however much I'm chafing at the bit to start building, I'm also really going to miss the bright lights and colourful baubles this year - particularly my jolly light-up reindeer 🙁
To make amends, I'm filling the gaps left by the smaller decorative items with vases of fresh flowers as well as pots - and even a contemporary design Spode teapot (ticket price £55, I paid £10 last year!) - of bulbs that will hopefully bring some spring sunshine ahead of the season itself! Definitely needed today, because after a couple of dry, sunny days the rain and general gloom has returned with a vengeance.....Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Today's champagne moment - DH bringing home a couple more unwanted original, Victorian gothic arched windows from the property he's renovating 😀
Not stained glass this time, but lovely, nonetheless! Apparently there'll be a pair of external doors later too if I'm interested.
All these will hopefully be useful when we get round to sorting out our attached outbuilding 😄
I hope Wednesday is ok - haven't seen her posting since before Christmas....hopefully she's busy with her house move.....

My Champagne moment yesterday evening was going to the Park's Edge Bar and Restaurant to celebrate my friend A's birthday. There were 14 of us celebrating. The food was delicious and the drinks flowed. Her partner paid the whole bill for everyone.

That looks absolutely delicious, Sugarbaby 😋😁 Sounds like you all had a fabulous time!
Today's champagne moment - clearing out another box of stuff for the charity shop plus some old light fittings to sell, which means I can now fit my reindeer and the kitchen Christmas trees ornament in the top of the cupboard 😉
Hopefully someone will get good use out of those items that are no longer of use to us.....Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Today's champagne moment, creating a reading nook in my dining room - just by moving a lamp and a bookcase.Debt free and Keeping on Track4

I need to read more Mrs Porridge. I love reading but tend to just read in bed. I have a few books I want to get through

My Champagne moment yesterday evening was going to my usual pub for a night of dancing. I had a really good evening, as various people were celebrating their birthday in the pub.
I layered my Red Door perfume with the matching body powder, body lotion and bath and shower gel. I wore a brown eyeshadow, gold eyeliner, black mascara and red lip gloss.

MrsP...love the sound of your reading nook! Enjoy 😊
Hopefully I'll be able to do the same once we've built our extension 😉 For now our books are spread out over the old mill, with two bookcases in the snug (just glimpsed in one of my attached pics) where there's about to be major building work happening...well, next month we should hopefully be starting.
Champagne moments over the past few days -
DH cracked on with the plastering at the weekend, saving us a fortune (and a long wait, no doubt) as always!
And just having lots of cheerful fresh flowers dotted around gives my SAD (brought on by gloomy, damp days) a swift kick in the pants 😂
Been calculating what we still need to purchase for the snug transformation (phase 3!) which includes adding a cloakroom and lobby at one end. Despite having stocked up previously (the sanitary ware was bought years ago and I just found an unused barn door kit that DH picked up at a carboot sale for £5 too! This will be useful for entry to the snug once it's been reconfigured), there are going to be lots of spendy days ahead 😮
Actually, I'm itching to get outside and set to work in the garden again...but it's far too wet right now, but hearing all the birds and seeing the primroses flowering is making me dream of Spring and longer, drier days 😎
