Happy Solstice Day.I love today, I can almost feel the magic that is the turning of the year, the sun returning to the northern hemisphere, the promise of new beginnings. For me this when the festivities start. I shall raise a glass tonight and nibble something nice whilst I make a start watching some nice feel good Christmas movies. Time for some serious Hygge. 😁.I have great plans, schemes and ideas for next year which I shall share with you ....later. 😉.In the meantime The house is decorated, the shopping all done, presents all wrapped. Just need to get my hair cut tomorrow and then I'm good to go.Wahoo. 🥂5

You sound like you're all set (apart from the hair 😉), Helen 😄
I have a few more gifts to wrap - my main task for tomorrow - and need to do a last minute run through of the menus for the festive period, then I too am ready to go.
All parcels received except for some tiny candles (for my cute little Bjorn Wiinblad candle holder) I ordered on eBay last night. Hopefully they'll be here on Christmas Eve which is the estimated delivery date ☺️

Same, wrapping to do, hair cut and colour today then sorted. My girls did the shopping last night. Just bread and a couple of other bits. I do need to organise my fridge a bit better though

Just popping by to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays in case there's no time tomorrow!
🎅🎄🎁 🦃🎁🎄🎅
All good to go here - last few items of food purchased, trifle made, table set, gifts wrapped (although traditionally these don't get placed beneath the tree till last thing tonight 😉).
Most importantly, our heating oil delivery arrived yesterday. The tank indicator gauge began flashing early last week so we immediately put in an order. When it got to Wednesday this week with no sign we started panicking slightly, especially as an acquaintance of DH who runs an oil company said there are still huge shortages of domestic oil here. Anyway, thank goodness it came eventually 😅
We are about to go into Llandeilo for a wander round. Don't need to buy anything but it's just nice to be able to, as last year we felt confined to barracks.....
Venison tomorrow which is a first for Christmas dinner for us! Then there's the huge Aldi rib of beef DH picked up the other day whilst the gammon is being held back for New Year's Day 😋
After a few rather rubbishy Christmases (2017, 2018 and 2020 I'm looking at you!) we are both looking forward to taking a well-deserved break. DH hasn't taken a holiday since 2018 so he particularly should put his feet up! I'm not ashamed to admit we're indulging ourselves this year 😁
Anyway, have a marvellous festive break and warmest wishes for a healthy, happy and prosperous 2022 everyone! xxx
Edited to add pic of cute poodle decoration (bought because it resembles our mini labradoodle!) on my tiny vintage tree in the bathroom!

Merry Christmas everyone. Not quite the day we expected, my youngest Daughter and partner have tested positive, 2nd time for her, she had it Sept 20, so she won't be able to come here today. I have my eldest Daughter, son in law, and Grandson staying and my Brother will join us later. What a nightmare!

Hi all, sorry its been a while, December has well and truly gotten away from me!
I hope you have all had a nice Christmas, I had a nice time but I must be honest and say I was more happy it was the end of all the running around. I was still going at 11pm on Xmas eve, I need to be better prepared next year!
I had my husbands birthday on 19th, Xmas and its my sons birthday tomorrow then in 2 weeks we are due to go on holiday, Borris allowing!
Sheila, I'm sorry your daughter tested positive, I hope she still managed to enjoy it x
I'm looking forward to 2022, has anyone got any wishes or goals to share?
I know I need to stop and smell the roses instead of just 'getting through' things and ticking things off a never ending list.
I always take time to think of what I am grateful for when I go out walking nearly every day but I feel like I need to enjoy life and family events more if you know what I mean.
If I am not back on here before then here's to the new year, I hope its a good one for everyone! Xx4 -
