It's so funny about colours and what we perceive as "dull, bland and boring" lol! As I've said previously I studied fashion back in the day and used to make some very weird clothes for myself - and occasionally DH - to wear!
By comparison, how I dress now would be considered extremely dull by most, I imagine.
To DH's eternal embarrassment, for years there was a photo of him on the wall of the main corridor in DS's pre-prep department in tights & a tunic I'd made 😂🤣😂🤣😂
I've always been drawn to darker colours (black, brown, grey, green, purple), cannot wear too much red or pink and would never wear yellow....although I do have a sort sleeved mustard wrap around knit somewhere that looks great over black, lol! Today, for example, I'm wearing black jeggings, black fine-knit jumper, black ground-sweeping waterfall cardigan and dark grey uggs 😎 I always wear quite bold, often colourful jewellery though, which lifts it I guess - today it's a Pilgrim gingko leaf pendant...
I've also been considering dyeing something, but my preferred choice would be grey 🙄 It's a lovely, flowing cotton Bitte Kai Rand dress I got a while back in TK Maxx (£49.99, RRP £218!!!), but it's white, not my colour at all, so it's sitting in my wardrobe, unworn, tags still attached.
In fact the only two occasions I recall wearing white were 1) the night I met DH and 2) our Nile cruise a few years back 😉
Normally my go-to colour for wearing/dyeing would be black - that Egyptian holiday dress eventually went that way - but I've got loads of black and not much grey, so that's where I'm at right now. Just hesitating on pulling the trigger, so to speak. It's either that or I sell it on.....Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Black and navy make me look like a corpse. 😂. Just can't do them and yet I think they can look fab on other people. Since my hair turned white I find I can now wear different colours now, such as vibrant turquoise and even pink. Never wore pink in my life but now it seems to suit me. Pale and mid greys, (charcoal is ok) beiges and anything on the peach spectrum just drain me. It's funny how we change as we get older, not just our hair but skin tones too, we definitely loose pigment. My mum always kept her rosy cheeks and her lovely pale olive skin tones even when she was nearly 90 but I'm afraid I have my fathers colouring. He looked quite ashen at times. I am one who definitely benefits from some colour next to my face. At least women can use slap to cover the pallor, 👍😁Well I've finished the blitz, just the inside windows left but they will have to wait for another day, I've simply ran out of steam. But I'm happy, everything looks and smells lovely and fresh.Love the table lamp, SUgarbaby. Your room is looking lovely.9

I prefer darker colours too and I only like certain colours on me. I can't wear any beige as I'm too pale. I don't mind dark grey but I can't stand light grey.
I wore my new yellow bag out again today. I wouldn't normally wear yellow at all but as it is an accessory I don't mind it. I wore my red vest top and my outfit felt quite bright for me.
I just finished the dye job. One of the dresses didn't take the colour at all but everything else turned out okay. One of the grey jumpers I bought today came out pink rather than red but I like that colour anyway. I accidentally dyed my socks as I left them in the machine.
I have my night out next Friday but I think I might go into central London on my own next week during the day as well and go to a cafe and maybe a park as things are opening up.
I'm about to have a glass of wine.

Good Mornjng my lovely friends
well after the reminder about Miracle Mornings the other day (thanks for that Mrs S). I decided to up my game, for the past three mornings I have really gone for it. It feels great, I feel more energised and I'm achieving so much more. I even started exercising again!!!! Ok just a bit of tai chi/yoga stretches so far but it's a start right. 😁.Champagne moments this Mornjng........a refund from my gas/leccy and a note from eBay that the first payment is onits way. And other sale. 😁. Well the MM routine does say it will improve your finances. 🤞🥂. Pity I can't list more at the moment, will just have to be patient. All good things come to those who wait.In return I donated a nice little haul to the chazzer, whilst there picked up a pair of smart shorts (ever hopeful of sunshine) for an amazing 50p and a gorgeous crystal bowl (2.50) for deserts such as trifles etc. My previous one got broken and I've been on the hunt for a while. Also went to Aldi for a good stock up. So that's me, shopping done, chazzer shop done and it's still only 11.00 am. It really feels so much better to be up and doing earlier. During lockdown I found myself just drifting along, stagnating and not achieving anything, just wasting the days away, often not even getting dressed until nearly noon. This way is so much better, I'm much more productive. Its warm and dry so going to wash some knitwear and then do some gardening.9 -

Mrs P and LL you both made me laugh. Thank you for the compliment, but I am sure you both have more talent than I have when it comes to house fabbing.
LL you are making such huge strides now in decluttering your home
I feel so much better this morning after getting a good night's sleep

Sorry I haven' been able to send a link to those that have asked. I haven't forgotten, I just haven't been able to fathom out how to do it yet. Until my tech guy (son😂) visits I'm a bit stuck. It won't be for a couple of weeks though because he is currently revising for his final exams. (Electrician stuff).Never mind, I'll crack on with the decluttering and gardening in the meantime.7

LL to send a PM you need to click on the envelope at the top right hand side; then click on what looks like a square of paper with a pencil. This will bring up a box where you type in the names of who you want to send the PM to, separating each name with a comma (,). Type a heading and then the body of the message.
Once that's all done you just send by clicking on Post Message.8 -
I missed your lovely new lamp, Sugarbaby....it's so good to get all the little finishing touches done, particularly when they were bargains 😊
A couple of mine arrived today, bringing some champagne moments on an otherwise dreary, wet day - one cushion cover and a remnant (same fabric designer) to make another. I snapped it up for half price whilst browsing her website earlier in the week 😉
Have just purchased another remnant (eBay), so am now waiting for that and the other two cushion covers. Looks like I'll be getting my sewing machine out after all, lol!
I'm going to try not to moan - too much 🙄 - about the weather as at least the garden is getting a thorough soaking. I braved the rain and walked around it this morning - twenty-three out of forty-seven roses in the rose beds now have buds, as well as a few of the ramblers planted elsewhere.
The massive pink rhododendron is beginning to open, as well as the orange azalea and the magnolia Susan is still going strong.
One of my three libertia grandiflora in the new white bed has an open flower today too 😃 So loads of champagne moments outdoors!

My late mum was the only person I've come across whose hair darkened (naturally) the older she got! Even when she was 80+ in her nursing home with dementia, her hair looked like that of a much younger woman. It went from light brown to verging on black without any intervention whatsoever.....
