Happy New Year to you all
Eldest DD has just got her negative test result, so she is able to fly back home to Sweden tomorrow. She is very relieved.....her flight is at 5pm from Edinburgh tomorrow via Amsterdam to Stockholm. Results took less than 24 hours so that was good....especially as she paid £120 for it so she was worried it would take too long and then she'd need to pay again for another one.
I made us a platter last night with nice meats and cheese and bread last night and we had some wine and watched last 2 episodes of Bridgerton, Eastenders and Graham Norton and went to bed at 11.30.
We've been down to mam and dad's this morning for coffee with the doors open and will go for a walk this afternoon. Strange, as usual, for DD saying goodbye to her granny and grandad with no idea when she will see them again and without a hug this time.

Hello, I'm late again!
I was with the early bedtime people, I warned my OH and DS that I wouldn't manage staying up. Went up to bed at 9 and although I woke up a couple of times, I had a major lie in until 6.30. I'm usually up by 5. I must have really needed a decent sleep. No odd dreams either.
Welcome to our new posters!
Today is the start of finish it all up days, I've made inroads on the cheese and biscuits so far, the chocolate will take a bit longer. But I promise that I will persevere nobly.
Our snow is more or less melted and it was less frosty this morning, I have been inspecting my daffodils and they seem to be coming along quite well, even though the squirrels like fishing them out. They don't seem to eat them, just dig them up to see if they might be tasty I suppose. So I replant them and we play this game for weeks. The bluebells (and whitebells) are springing up, my violas are still flowering and so is my special pet Hesperantha but that did not like yesterday's really vicious frost. I can see other perennials putting up new shoots too, though it is a bit early so I'm hoping that they will survive as I think we are going to have many more cold nights.
This has been quite a year, somehow I don't remember any previous years lasting for thousands of days yet going past in a blur at the same time. I am hoping that 2021 will be better or at least less strange and I wish you all a healthy and peaceful new year.

Hello and Happy New Year, I joined in for a while a couple of years ago, but the Chronic Fatigue meant that I could not keep it up, however, I have read nearly every day of your joys and sorrows and celebrated small wins through the awful last year. I would like to try again for 2021.
Stayed up until 12:15 our dear dog needs to be escorted outside for a wee every 1.5/2 hours and there were some amazing cloud formations later in the evening (Stratocumulus I believe)
Walked with DH and DDog after we had done the mammoth washing up, not freezing and no wind really so quite pleasant although drearily dull.
Need to sort the fridges and see what needs using soon/freezing and decide on something for this evening that requires little effort! The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)13 -
Hi and Happy New Year to all.
A friend of ours did a NYE quiz over Zoom last night, which was a nice couple of hours spent chatting to people we hadn't seen all year - we waited til midnight just to see the New Year in (not helped by the tv, seriously, those stations which acknowledged it seemed hellbent on making it as annoying as possible), then we finished our whiskies and went to bed.
Have spent today watching old films and crocheting, for the most part.2024 Fashion on the Ration - 10/66 coupons used

Good Evening
Happy New Year to you all.
Last night was spent in my room watching a film, had 1 small drink and watched a few fireworks out of the window.I’m not feeling too bad apart from the headaches, fatigue and aching. Paracetamol is helping with this. I’m just resting, reading, jigsaw puzzles, crochet & watching films - thanks TA for your recommendation earlier - really enjoyed the film.Nothing else to report. Nice to see new posters. Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care.12
