Talk Talk current broadband okay for online school lessons?

I currently have Talk Talk fast broadband which has been fine for me working from home on my work laptop since March.
From Monday next week (4th January) my child will be doing his school lessons online at home on his own laptop and I am concerned my broadband will not be sufficient to cope with the additional use.
I can upgrade to a TalkTalk fibre package but the earliest date I can get for this is 13th January 2021.
Do I need the upgrade and is there anything I can do in the waiting period to ensure that both laptops will work efficiently?
Thank you.

What speed are you getting at the moment - do a speed test which should give you some idea of what you are already getting.
TBH I'd just see how you get on before lashing out money you may not need to and there may not be any significant improvement anyway if you are already getting reasonable speeds.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
Upgrading to fibre may not mean "lashing out" money. Perhaps as well as a speed test having a look on the web site to see what the upgrade price would be?0

For similar reasons I’m upgrading to their 35 fibre package. It’s only costing an extra couple of quid a month.0

Google broadband speed test...
run it and then tell us what speed you are getting - we can then advise you0
