Laptop for homeschooling

Hi
I wonder if anyone could help me please.
I have two children in secondary school who will have to homeschool for at least the first week in January. They have been provided with a Microsoft 365 account through school, however, we only have one laptop.
I am not very good with technology, therefore can anyone recommend a laptop I can purchase for them.
Ideally I only want to spend between £200-£300 as it will only be used for school work. Also it needs to be easy it set up.
Thank you.

I would suggest getting a Chromebook. Argos have them in from £180 as below:0

Don't get a Chromebook get a Windows machine
have a look at Amazon windows laptops between £200 and £300
I would avoid 64GB and try to get 128 GB
see what screen size you want.
see if anything takes your fancy and come back here and ask for opinions on it0 -
Does it need to be a laptop? A Raspberry Pi would be good for this and would continue to be educational once the pandemic is over

Sorry - that won't do at all.mksysb said:Does it need to be a laptop? A Raspberry Pi would be good for this and would continue to be educational once the pandemic is over

I'd say get a Windows machine if you can stretch to one - which your budget does. A Chromebook would be just about enough but for £300 you could get something with a bit more flexibility and longevity like this:

Re my previous suggestion:
go to www.amazon.co.uk
enter 'laptop' in the search box
click the box £200-300 in price range
browse though, looking for 128GB or larger, windows 10 and whatever screen size you need.0 -
Bulk standard; but will do the job @ £200: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lenovo-Ideapad-330s-Laptop/324421341267

I'm worried, whatever you order, you might not get it in time as I'm confident the demand for laptops will be high right now.
As it is short-term, does anyone in the family have a laptop they can loan to you for a couple of weeks? Or perhaps an older laptop they no longer use which can be spared?
A dream is not reality, but who's to say which is which?0 -
Are they both fully timetabled? Asking as my son's school are using teams and allowing children to download recordings where circumstances, such as only having one device, mean they can't join in live?
