Freesat or not to Freeview?..

This is a bit technical for me being blonde but I will give it a go..........
I don’t know if this is in the right place, so here goes.
My father thinks I’m good at this tech stuff so him asking me about his TV problem and sat nav has got me totally puzzled. So this is what he has
He has asked me to find a 42” smart TV with Freesat but very hard to find
I need someone to confirm Snettisham in Norfolk is able to receive Freeview. I’ve googled it and I think it’s possible, can anyone confirm this as father is adamant he can’t receive it
No fiberoptic in area so would have to receive everything through dish or phone line
Wants smart TV is this possible

Smart TV = get's apps and catch up TV via internet - standard ADSL broadband (not fibre) *may* be adequateFreesat = gets free to air programs via a satellite dishFreeview = gets free to air programs via an aerialHow does he currently receive his TV signal? .... (he does have TV???)

Looks like Tacolneston is the main BBC East region transmitter but coverage in Snettisham is better from the Kings Lynn transmitter, though it looks like this doesn't carry all channels (Freeview Lite).

Can your Father ask any of his neighbours how they receive Freeview? Where Freeview reception is poor, Freesat is generally a better option - as long as line of site to the satellite is not blocked by trees etc.
Should be plenty of suitable TVs out there though - here's one at random - 43-inch Smart TV with freesat and freeview. No idea if it's any good, just an example: https://www.johnlewis.com/lg-43un73006lc-2020-led-hdr-4k-ultra-hd-smart-tv-43-inch-with-freeview-hd-freesat-hd-ceramic-black/p49295790 -
If he is asking about Freesat rather than Freeview , suggests he already knows that Freeview wouldn’t be much use, as already stated, you can get a TV that does both.
If getting Freesat, obviously you would need a satellite dish fitted, if one doesn’t already exist, a dish from a previous Sky service would work , but if that existed you can get a version of Freesat from Sky , using the Sky box0 -
Yes, looks like he might have to settle for a 43" screen, as 42" screens don't seem to be a thing, for example:Ratita_Presumida said:He has asked me to find a 42” smart TV with Freesat but very hard to find

Wants smart TV is this possiblecan just buy a normal freeview smart tv, if freeview signal is not good enough, just get an addon box like this later and get a sat dish fittedPS purchased this for my dad recently, nice TV .....

Since it is a limited Freeview service, he would probably be better to get FreeSat as more channels are available on there:
https://www.freesat.co.uk/channels
If he wants to record, it might be easier to get a standard TV and add a recording box like
https://www.freesat.co.uk/get-freesat/set-top-boxes/recordable-4k-tv-box
Also some here

Does he currently use freesat? There's lots of 43 inch tvs available. If he's replacing an older tv the physical sizes are often smaller on the new tvs despite the larger screen.
