Wireless thermostat (Honeywell THR872CUK) losing connection to boiler

Just realised I never posted back with a conclusion to this. After having a rather hopeless engineer out the next time the problem occurred (to give you an idea, he knocked on the door after a while, asking if my husband could please join 2 wires together as he hadn't got his varifocals!), we got someone else out.
After the first guy had been here for several hours over 2 days, the new engineer fixed the issue fairly quickly. It required a new PCB board, only £80, so happy to pay for that in exchange to get our heating and hot water back!1 -
Blimey! And thanks for the update :-)Is this the PCB in the boiler? So nothing to do with the poor WiFi 'stat?0

Yes in the boiler itself, so nothing to do with the thermostat at all. Fingers crossed it's been behaving itself ever since :-)1

Pleased you got it sorted - didn't see that cause coming!

You can't buy any boiler pcb for £80 unless it's 2nd hand or refurbishedI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -

Not quite sure what to say to that, except that this is what we paid. We saw it being removed and replaced, so it was definitely done. It's an external oil boiler if that makes a difference. You can't buy any boiler pcb for £80 unless it's 2nd hand or refurbished
EDIT: just Googled, there are several on sale for our boiler model for £60 so £80 via an engineer seems reasonable to me.
