Lots of positives to report this month
I start 2 weeks (much needed) annual leave today, DH was offered a 2 year work contract last week starting Sep (yay!), DS got a lovely end of year school report, BG have paid the solar money in time for our trip away at the end of this week and it was more than expected so I have been able to pay a bigger op and finally break into the £180ks on the mortgage:

lovely to hear lots of positives @rara32 when the news is so full of doom and gloom. I'm sure DH's contract offers peace of mind in these uncertain timesknow thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...1

Thanks Pavlovs, I am hugely relieved OH found something so quickly. We have to remortgage next year and think we may have had to consider going on the SVR with our current lender otherwise. I have resigned myself to our rate increasing which is why I am so glad I have kept up with this challenge as it will all help.Mortgage @ 2018 £225000

Pay day today and the first with DH on his new contract. Decided to make a larger op and reduce amount of planned savings this month so I could complete my 1% challenge early
I know it will all work out the same in the end but psychologically it gives me a boost having met a goal and means I 'feel' like I have some extra each month as we head in to winter and towards the upcoming half-term holidays, family birthdays and xmas.
