. Spring is sprung, around here. The crocuses are out and the daffodils have put up leaves. One of the houses on our walk has a pink camellia in full bloom. It’s still cold enough for a frost this morning, but the seasons are definitely changing.
The saga of the trainers has (almost) concluded. I finally got a postage-free label from them on Thursday, packaged them up again and took them to the local “parcel shop”. No sign of a refund yet, but I’ve got my 5 coupons back. Just as well, really, since I fell off the Cold Sheep wagon when I heard McAree Brothers in Edinburgh are closing this weekend and wanted to buy something from them/give them some love before they did (their website was “MCAdirect”). Ahem. < cough >. 7x100g balls of Roman Pure Wool Superwash Worsted in Navy blue somehow ended up at my door. £42 and 14 coupons spent. There is no room to store it, so it has to be my next project. I think it wants to be something textured, like a gansey.
My total coupon spend for 2021 is now 19 out of 72, leaving 53 coupons for the rest of the year.

Spring has definitely sprung here. We sat in the garden in the sun having a coffee yesterday morning and went for a long walk along our local beach in the afternoon. It was great to get out in the afternoon sunshine. Beach was quite busy, quite a lot of people just sitting around in groups (so much for social distancing!).

In other news, my DH’s job finishes at Easter, after 3 years - he’s been on a fixed-term-contract and they ran out of funding - while my contract has been extended until the end of June, with a “we’ll see” after that. I’ve told them that I want to stay with the team and I want to be staff. (The business I work for has been sold. We change owners on 31st March. Everything is up in the air after that.) Financially, we’ll be OK for the rest of the year. After that we may have to raid the Running Away Fund and the money set aside for the cars, all quarantined off at present.

At times, My Intended has idly looked at other jobs, but has always decided to stay put, in a company which has employed him for 12 or 13 years now and has staff who've been therefor twenty-odd... I have to say I'm very glad of his job security...
Sunny here albeit -1C first thing - even my Aged Ps up in Scotland sat out for a cup of tea yesterday, well-wrapped up!

I see its a while since I last posted. I have to say I have been a little overwhelmed at the moment with a number of things so I just wanted to spend as little time as possible on computers - I hate them. I have recently had to buy a new one and bought the software but when I tried to download it today it came up with key product already used. The tech guy was completely bemused and is going to send me another one. It could only happen to me!
I was feeling a bit fed up with sewing and crafting so stayed away from it for a bit but it didn't take me long to get itchy fingers again and last night I finally cracked and cut out the pieces to make a jersey long sleeve casual dress (I'm bored of wearing jeans and tops). Since I last posted I have also made two more facemasks, knitted a robin decoration kit, unravelled a bolero I didn't wear so that I could reuse the wool for something else and finished making another summer top from remnants. Its not until I write things down that I realise how much I do make. I'm pleased that I still have my coupons in tact though as they are all from my stash.
I hope everyone enjoys the sunshine this weekend. Stay safe all.Lisa

Did not complete wardrobe review for Spring Break. Throat got sore yesterday, so I went to bed early whilst hubby & the kids ran away. Better enough that I'm still going into work today, but might not end up staying the whole day.2023 Fashion on the Ration: Start with 66. Nightdress - 6 = 60 remaining.5

I was really pleased to get a job in our local council about 18 months ago and did away with a commute of anything from 45 minutes to an hour and a half! Now I am only 10 minutes up the road which makes the fact I've been trapped in the back bedroom for months even more galling! There could be no one out there at all today for all the contact I've had!
A little while ago, I was saying I had some fat quarters to use. Well, I decided to make something I would use a lot to get the pleasure from the fabric so I've made a bag to take to work, for my lunch and stuff! So, won't be spilling my lunch when I go up the stairs then! 😂
