Laura and Pip,I completely agree with what you have said about supporting good, small, local producers. It isn't just Brexit, many are badly affected by the coronavirus restrictions and people's changed shopping habits as well. to have the combined impact of both of these things at once is dreadful. I completely agree with supporting these places as much as possible as otherwise like you say they will not be there. It' worth checking facebook pages of small companies or even ringing them up to find out what they are doing as many aren't that technically savy. The good wool shop in town set up a website from scratch and started doing deliveries in the 1st lockdown so I have been trying to support them, a lot of small business are trying as hard as they can to survive.

Couldn't agree more Laura and Pip, as I think I have said previously all the lovely little wool shops I used to use have gone now and considering I live in a bigish city I can't imagine how they survive in small towns. So sad.9

Laura - it beggars belief that there are any problems with import/export at all after years of preparation, it should have been seemless, I was stunned when they ploughed ahead with it regardless of everything else that was going on.DH & I walked into town yesterday and every shop etc that was open was busy as were the streets, the traffic on the roads was crazy really, all that has been achieved is concentrating people into less places rather than spreading them out, the vast majority of people are not just going to sit at home day after day after day. Thanks maddiemay/Skogar I will be checking out that programme on the iplayer.Re the wool, I really, really wish I could knit, I can only cast on and do the basic stitch but I have never completed anything. I should try harder.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

The pink thing around my neck under my scarf is the “neck gaiter” I finished this week to run in. I’ll photograph it later (and link to the pattern on Ravelry). I’m very glad that I finished it. I’m also glad that I followed @Cherryfudge’s advice and bought Y@kTrax. I found them in an online, British running shop. They arrived on Tuesday. I reckon will need to use them tomorrow. I have finally reached the end of the Couch-to-5K and don’t want to miss my morning run. It only took me 6 months. (I repeated week 4 for four weeks, and week 5 for two months before something finally clicked in my fitness.)
Talking of photos, this is what 225g of 4-ply wool - 4.5 coupons - can make you:-
This is the Lady’s Lacy Jumper that I was making in December. If I ever make it again, I think I’d add another 10-20 rows to the length before starting the armholes - it has a tendency to ride up with wear. When I knitted it I was worried about running out of yarn, so relied on the notes I’d made when making The Jan Sweater out of the same (unidentified) yarn - they said, pattern 95 rounds before dividing for the armholes, so that’s what I did this time, too. (In the end, I had a ball left over, so used that to knit the neck gaiter.)
You may remember that I changed the sleeve heads to reflect the photo in the pattern, not the pattern’s instructions. This is what they look like now:

That's gorgeous @PipneyJane, and a good call on the sleeves. Is it a cotton yarn?
I'm glad the Y@kTrax are working for you. Ironically, last time I tried, I couldn't get mine over my trainers! No running for me recently as there's been first mud then ice, but I've put in a lot of miles of walking country roads and a few field edges: I'm blessed with being right on the edge of town. No snow for us yet but hoar frost so thick that it looks like snow. I think I need to try the Y@kTrax on my running shoes again, but the supporting cast, in terms of lungs, heart and legs are keeping in practice and I'm very pleased with the hiking socks I tried today. A good investment of coupons.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

That is a really lovely jumper @PipneyJane. I think this year I’m going to get something for myself although I’ve got some other projects to do first. I have got some Yak Trax, bought years ago because I’m very nervous about walking in snow and ice, it never occurred to me that you could run in them. We haven’t had very much snow here, but if we do I think my running will be suspended.Huge congratulations on completing the Couch to 5K - it’s a great achievement. I am now regularly running for 30 minutes, and I still can’t believe I’m typing that because I struggled to run for 90 seconds when I began it. I’m now trying to run every other day to consolidate, and then I’ll start trying to increase the length of time.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone.
