Hi all, sorry I've been mia due to a minor accident, went for a walk along the river bank with OH and a friend, before going into tier4, fainted and had an unexpected meeting with an iron railing. 7 hours in A&E and they finally glued my head back together and let me go home. I am back in work tomorrow and have just caught up with you all.
@ Laura, very hard to injure yourself walking, I might have to be the exception to the rule lol.
@ Bailey's babe, loom knitting? tell me more, is this something else to add to my list of things to try?
@ Polly and couldsavemore, yes the w0nderweb is probably the best thing to try and I might be able to disguise it with a little embroidery, probably worth a try.
@ Laura, recycling rags, good to know, I'll investigate that.
@ Thriftwizard, love the recycled jumper, wish we had a recycle warehouse near here.
@ Laura, your suggestion about a cape wrap, I put a button on mine, keeps it in place easily. The rice crispy cakes will be gone now but I'd love the recipe. The mend on the jumper is absolutely fab, will have to investigate swiss darning. I have never had moths but I have had various other things cause holes. I love your knicker pattern and it occurs to me they would make nice shortly pjs as well, only type I wear except when I am camping. Very belated birthday wishes, Hawes, yes I love it there and I have taken my DofE pupils round there.
@ Skogar, all the lovely little wool shops I knew have gone, so sad, I did find a market stall that was great but not open at the moment.
@Laura, losing weight, I lost 7lbs in the last 6 months without really trying, I was doing less exercise during lockdown than normal but it was 1of my goals to do more, I do like walking but until they have sorted out why I fainted I will be taking it easy. I really love to swim and miss it a lot but hey ho.
@ TwibbleDee, feral hogs, if I wasn't veggie I'd be thinking free food lol. I was once chased up a tree by a warthog, but that's another story lol.
@ Cherryfudge, I'll take on Margo, she can't do anything my Mum hasn't already done lol. Though if I'm not back next week send out the home guard to look for me. I can fix up a new notice board, my chop saw makes beautiful 45 degree angles.
On the craft front I am still on my baby blanket but it is coming along :-)
Sorry for the long ramblings, take care everyone

Ouch @Liverpool_Anne that sounds rather scary and nasty! Glad to hear you are on the mend, and I hope they can find out what caused the faint. Glad to see you back, and you seem to have caught up on the news despite the noticeboard. A woman with her own chop saw is always welcome!Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.6

@Laura_Elsewhere - no, I hadn't heard the village carpenter had been called up.
@Liverpool_Anne - glad to hear you're on the mend. Lots of things can make you faint*, so hopefully the cause won't be too worrying. I hope they work out what it was soon.
Do you want me to run interference with Margot while you measure up for the new notice board?
- Pip
*Seriously, you can faint because of an upset tummy, or standing still for a long time if you have low blood pressure (the classic on the Tube), or a drop in blood pressure because you were sitting for half an hour with your legs in the sun on a hot day causing the blood vessels in them to dilate (stand up = fall over), as well as because of more worrying things. My favourite cause was drinking a glass of red wine almost immediately after giving blood. (You know that warm-inside feeling some alcoholic drinks give you? It's the alcohol dilating the blood vessels in your gut. Your body can't cope with that when you've just given blood and don't have enough volume of liquid in your blood stream. Again, stand up = falls over)"Be the type of woman that when you get out of bed in the morning, the devil says 'Oh crap. She's up.'

As you may gather, I'm a knitter and a crocheter. I also sew, but very infrequently these days. My weakness is wool.

Hi Pip,
my personal theory is that we had sat in a shelter, the weather was atrocious, and had a hot, very strong cup of coffee and then decided to head home as we were all getting cold and set off at a very brisk pace and yes, I do normally have low bp,and my head couldn't keep up with my legs lol, but it is being investigated by my marvellous GP.
Yes, run a bit of interference with Margot. I've done a deal with Mr. Brown for some materials in exchange for a loan of the chop saw. He wants to make a new chicken coop but I didn't ask where he got the materials from, probably swapped them for some eggs, his hens are very good layers lol.9 -
My first spends of the year. Pair of brown long boots. 5 coupons. Been on my wish list for a couple of years and were half price. So had to have them. Also a long sleeved top in green to replace one i managed to get a bleach stain on. Oops. 5 coupons. Is that correct.?
So 56 left. 10 in one month is not good!! but nothing needed in the next few months. I hope.9
