  • What does it say on your previous statements? It will tell you on there exactly what elements you receive. If you reported a health condition before April 2017 and your award is LCW and not LCWRA then you will receive the lower LCW element of £128.25.
Hey poppy12345, thanks for replying. :)

I don't have previous statements/paperwork, so it must be the LCWRA element....

I have only recently (within the last month or two) had a telephone assessment with DWP GP who stated on the phone that I am limited. I didn't really take this in as the assessment caused PTSD trigger unfortunately, and didn't even know this meant additional payment until it happened (bank text!)

  • In a previous thread here, which was in June you stated that you were receiving £409 per month but no mention of any other element.
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6161795/facing-a-tight-budget/p1 What exacrtly is the other element and how much is it?

Hey poppy12345, that's right. Back then, this was my only income, & I was struggling in all sorts of ways.

Kind people (on here and other threads) were trying to encourage me to apply for more support/benefits. Unfortunately, I was not fully accepting at that point I needed it. Denial, depression, PTSD diagnosis, adjusting to meds.....

I haven't had anything official in writing on paper, just something on-line with UC after the telephone assessment, from memory along the lines of limited capability something which I haven't looked at since because I just went on a real downer. It's about - just flipping realised it is that first amount you said.....! So damn stupid...... £341ish! Argh..... apologies for my stupidity (brain fart). I cannot believe I have been so publicly stupid.... duh.... Thank you poppy, I am going away to kick myself firmly up the backside, appreciate you giving me a good mental poke!

Lol no worries. When claiming UC everything is done through your journal and there's no offical paperwork/letters sent to you. Statements are produced on your journal each month with payment made about 1 week later.
  • Thanks again poppy12345!  :D It has helped my idiot brain..... I think a lot of the time I am in denial (ok, majority of it!) which may be why I needed the help in the first place.....
