Claiming for a lost parcel on credit card

I bought a tablet off of amazon and had to return it. So far it's been 3 weeks and hasn't been delivered. If it comes to a Royal Mail claim, I will only be covered up to £50 because I used the signed for service. Am I able to claim for a refund via the credit card I used to purchase it as it has been lost in the post?

Have you had a look at the tracking info - what does it say - does it say delivered?

I had an item bought from an Amazon seller and returned.

Post Office could only compensate to £20 but we had returned it via method seller requested.

Amazon refunded in full when I put a claim in as we could prove we had returned it inline with the "hassle free returns policy"

Have you contacted Amazon? They were great on their online chat. I couldn't fault them.
  • The tracking says dropped off at local post office, you will only see when it has been signed for/delivered. It's said that for 22 days now. I have been in contact with amazon and royal mail who have both said give it another week, amazon said make a royal mail claim after then

    Probably a backlog. Be patient.

Ok so seems Amazon have not yet received it - no need to panic (yet) - almost certainly in transit will arrive any day

    Amazon Marketplace seller?
Or did you print off the Amazon return label?
    Life in the slow lane
  • It was from Amazon not marketplace but the return label they sent me was one I had to print and pay for myself.

I guess I need to wait a bit longer.

Normally with Amazon, once the return is scanned at eg the post office then the return is processed ie Amazon don't wait for the actual parcel to arrive before refunding you. That has been my experience anyway.

Ahh, I hope that's not the case for me as mine has been scanned for 25 days now
