Yes I have been back at tap since Jan.  My feet hurt after this weeks lessons but think I must have given it extra effort.  They are fine today.

I am now really aching from the cycling today.  I am hoping that will pass very quickly.  I am glad I took the challenge on though and it wont be long before we are out (hopefully in the dry) on a family trip.

    Not done much else today

Happy Mothers Day to you all.  I was given a bunch of flowers yesterday as DD1 couldn't hide them anywhere lol.  I have seen a card being made, but as none of the children are up as yet I will have to wait.  I tried to have a lie in but only managed until just gone 8.  Got up and decided to enter some competitions online and read peoples diaries.

Thankfully knees and feet are all pain free this morning.  Other than retrieving the bike from the boot of the car and into the garage I have nothing planned for today.  Yes the washing, homework and meals need doing but I don't plan to rush any of them today.  Might need to send some of the children to the shop for eggs as I think we are almost out and cant have yorkshires later without them.

It looks like its about to rain again so will plod around indoors.  Keeping an eye out for surveys as they haven't been as frequent this month.

Good evening to you all.  After a very lazy weekend we have also had a nice relaxing week, and the only thing we have done in the evening is go to 2 clubs as normal.  It is amazing how much extra time it feels like we have as i am not doing 2 rounds of school runs in the evenings as well as the clubs.  I am enjoying while I can, because I am sure DD2 will sign up for something else pretty soon.

Money - nothing much is happening at the moment money wise, although tomorrow is benefit payment day.  Next Friday is wages day so quite a large gap this month.  I did receive a grant application in the post.  Last year or the previous one I was entitled to some help with keeping warm.  I think I received about £45.  I am assuming as I qualified last time that is the reason I received another form this year.  From the looks of it I still meet the criteria, although this year it looks like the money would go directly to the energy company as they have asked for the account details.

Easter Holidays - 6 working days left - not long to go and it is clear from moods at work that breaking up this Friday would have  been a better idea.  Everyone is tired and ready for a rest.  I try to jolly them along but I am not getting very far.  I have booked DD2 and myself on our outdoor cooking session.  I did wonder if she wanted to do this again as she has already done it so many times, but she got really excited for it.  All 3 children are in a badminton tournament the first weekend - not done one of these in many years so will be interesting to see how we get on. I also have my Uncle and sister visiting over the Easter weekend so will need to clear up some more.  We have a nice walk in the woods planned and then a meal out with my Dad.  Unfortunately the younger 2 will be with XH on the Sunday.

Builders - they haven't been back since the initial half day, but have promised to turn up this Monday.  I have asked if it will be done in time for the Easter weekend as my Uncle sleeps in the living room where the wall will be knocked down and rebuilt.  If it is looking like a building site I cant expect him to sleep there.  Need to see how things go next week and go from there, but feel timing are getting very tight now.

Well I had a little lie in but the doorbell started ringing for no reason this morning.  No one anywhere near and far too early.  I went back to bed and although I didn't sleep it was nice to just be comfy in bed.

Once up I started on the large pile of washing that needs to be done today.  I had hoped that I could put it on the line but the lovely bright windy day soon turned into a 'about to rain' windy day.  Second load is in the machine now.  I would like to get the kitchen looking clean and tidy today.  It has looked grubby all week, so I thing today is the day to get it looking better and like food should be prepared in there.  We have to come up with some sort of storage solution for the crisps, as they used to live in a washing basket on top of the freezer.  Now this has gone the basket just lives on the floor and really there is no space for this.  All cupboards etc are full so not sure yet.  I will also be cleaning the fridge as I know there items in there that should no longer be.  The kitchen has been a little bit neglected over the past few weeks as you can tell.

We are off to a craft shop later too as the girls have never been and want to see what exciting craft bits are there.  No doubt we will come out spending some money but hopefully not too much.  Last night I placed a sports order for clothes for DS which cost more than I would like but it was all needed and can come out of the clothing pot.

Homemade pizza tonight which is a favourite here, and I might see if I can find a nice film to watch afterwards.  I am trying to watch ones that I have not seen before as I seem to rewatch the ones I like.  Then bed ready for the clocks to go forward tonight.

I forgot to mention a few utilities statements have come in this week.

Water - I have a balance of £300 ish.  They are keen to give me back the money but I would like to keep the balance there ready for any hard times.

Energy - Again I have just over £300 on my account.  I have taken a meter reading as the smart meter hasnt been working since before Christmas.  It looks like it is now reading my electricity meter but not the gas.  Will see if they use the gas reading to amend statement, but glad we are through winter with a balance still on the account.  Only have until Nov in this contract so fingers staying crossed for a good deal not to much higher than the one I am on.

Solar - I have made an extra £2,84 this month.  I have a balance of £36.80 currently on there.  I think I will withdraw this for the holiday spending money fund nearer the time.

Also been doing surveys and just need a little more before I can cash out the next £10.  I am hoping I will make £30 cashed out before the end of March, which isn't bad as it hasn't been as busy this month.

@Humdinger1 at 6.30am on a Saturday, when we had nothing planned I was not really up for it lol.  I didn't see anyone and they would have to move quite quickly to take cover as out front garden is very open and long.  There are easier houses that are directly on the road to play this with.  Not sure but thankfully it didn't happen today.

The children are not keen to wake up this morning to get ready for their fortnightly trip with XH.  It is raining and miserable and they know the routine and are just bored with it.  Will have a nice toad in the hole, mash and veg waiting for them when they return.

I am waiting for 21p to be cleared on the surveys before I can cash out.  There is almost £4 sitting there waiting to clear.

Spent £14 in the charity shop yesterday on clothes for DD1.  She got quite a bit and hopefully that will stop her spending anymore for a while.  I also got my sisters bday card for Friday - must get that in the post asap.

Last night after pizza (some left for todays lunch) I watched 2 films.  One of them I realised I had already seen a little way in and the other is quite old but never seen.  There is now a sequel out so thought I better watch the first one.  They are 'Seven Pounds' with Will Smith and 'Murder Mystery' with Jenifer Aniston and Adam Sandler.  I never had control of the tv remote so films I may have liked were always missed.  This year I am trying watch some of them.

Plenty more washing needed and still got the fridge to clear out as the shopping trip took longer than planned yesterday.  We also went to the garden centre as I would like to make the front garden a little less empty (currently stone covered borders round piece of grass).  I need evergreens that need very little care but look pretty .  Out in the back garden I would like something to cover the lattice fence between ourselves and neighbours.  Currently there is a plant in the summer that covers it with the tree that is also there, but in winter they can see right through into our house, and I am not keen on that.  I know very little about plants so need to do some research.  Also I have revisited the idea of a fence and side gate to make the back garden enclosed and private.  We had some unwanted visitors just cutting through the other day which I would like to stop.  Might fit this in next after the toilet, although I am still waiting for the person to get back to me - been almost a year I reckon.  Maybe I will ask the builders if they have any recommendations for fence people.  Would be nice to get that sorted before the summer.

Only 2 more days of the spring term left and I am feeling so tired.  I have a little bit of a saw throat and i am lacking in energy.  I am hoping I am not coming down with anything as I don't have time.

The builders arrived on Monday morning and have put walls up and knocked walls down.  Made new doorways and closed others.  They will not be done for a while as everything takes so long and they only seem to work half days.  It is nice that they clean up after themselves each day.  Today I came home to a hoovered living room.  I can visualise it a lot better now which is great and I don't think it will feel as small as I possibly thought it might.  I bought another mosaic tile for the trim around the edge which I think will look better as it will add some colour to a mainly white room.  I am trying to find a light that I like but nothing is jumping out at me as yet.  I may need to wait to see a little more progress before I can work out what I need. So in summary slow but steady progress!

I am already almost up another £10 for surveys after cashing out the other day.  Maybe I will make it before Friday end of the month.  Just realised I haven't posted my sisters bday card.  Will need to do that first thing tomorrow morning so it has any hope of getting there by Friday.

Wages hit the bank on Friday which will be nice and I can start refilling the pots I have emptied

Happy April and happy school holidays.  Thankfully the extreme tiredness and sore throat that I had during the week seems to have gone.

I have written out the calendar for the next 2 weeks so we can all see what is going on.  It is not going to be a restful few weeks.  DD1 will be doing driving lessons ready for her test on the 21st, DS has a workshop to attend and then must revise for exam in the summer.  I will need to push him to do this rather than spending 2 weeks on his Xbox.  And then DD2 has many activities (all free) to attend plus a sleepover.  She is such a sociable person and so different to the rest of us.  At least she will be kept busy and will not be on you tube the whole fortnight.  We will of course have the builders here hopefully all week but who knows.  The plasterer is due to come next week so I am guessing the door frame and walls will be put in as well as the electrics.  They said that the plumbing under the house will also be done next week.  So although they said it wont be finished by the weekend, it should be a lot closer.

I have a delivery of a new dining table today as the one we have just doesn't work now the kitchen has been redesigned.  This one is thinner so hopefully we should be able to move past the table but still fit everyone around it.  I also bought 2 stools for the ends for when we have visitors. It cost me £50 so not too spendy and it should make life better.  I will be putting that together today and putting the old one in the garage for now.   Once we have tested the new one out and seen it works I will be advertising the old one on the local selling site.  I have also purchased a few shrubs this morning which should be delivered this week.

Tomorrow is a sports tournament so I need to make sure all food, clothing and equipment is ready.  We need to be there at 8.30 so a long day ahead.

Lots of washing needed (stinky PE kits came home yesterday) to get on top of things ready for the new week to start.
