Been a productive couple of days at work. I am crossing bits off my list and so far no one has added anything to it. I am sure they will. We have a day off on Friday so I am hoping to complete all Christmas shopping, and meet up with a friend for lunch. I am hoping that I may also be able to have Thurs afternoon off too if I am up to date.
Last night DD1 cut my hair for me as I have been struggling to get an appointment. I only ever have a straight line cut along my back so figured she could manage that. She did well. I had about 6 inches cut off and it is still long enough to tie back. No more tangles hopefully and a few pounds saved.
Benefits payment came in and I have allocated the money to all of the savings pots. Now to wait until payday on Friday to get the bank account filled up. Also been working on spreadsheet a little more to tweek a few thingsMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Dinner is in the oven so thought I would update. No money spent today other than from the Christmas pot. A few more parcels also arrived ready to be wrapped.
I will need to do another wash this evening so I have my trousers back for tomorrow. Will do that after dinner. I am enjoying my shorter hair and not having a matted mess to untangle each day.
We are a few days behind on I'm a celebrity, and we haven't finished GBBO as yet. I think we are 2 or 3 episodes from the end. I also saw another programme that I would like to have a look at. I've not started the Christmas card for my friend as yet so would like to at least make sure I have everything that I need to get started.
This weekend we will need to get up in the loft for the advent calendars and Christmas jumpers. DS has requested one of the extra duvets that we stored up there too, so he will then be extra warm. He already has his duvet and his blanket, but his snuggly duvet is a larger size so needs the double.
Hoping to have a little move around in the living room ready for the Christmas tree as it is always getting knocked as its in the pathway a little. Hoping to move a chair and put it in the corner.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Well I was able to use some of my hours up this afternoon so left work at lunch time. We are not in tomorrow either so the weekend has begun. It feels like it should be half term or similar. PJ's and hoodies are now on to stay warm.
DD1 is still suffering a with her migraine. She let her manager know last night that she was still unable to sit up without being dizzy or wanting to be sick, and this morning she let them know she would not make her 12 start shift. They sent back such a nasty and very unprofessional message. I am ready for her to finish there and hopefully have better managers at the next place. I also suggested she write to the managers boss and put in a complaint. She has been onto the sofa again this afternoon so hoping she has turned a corner.
Nipped into supermarket for bread and cheese mainly. A choc orange may have slipped into the basket as well - whoops. Tomorrow I am meeting up with a friend and will have lunch out (cheap pub meal) and do some Christmas shopping - need to double check what I still need - not a lot but may as well get it all finished tomorrow if I can.
I best go start the dinner or I will be reaching for the choc orange too soon.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Put the water on earlier so we could have showers, but our control panel seems to be glitching lately and the radiators were warming up instead. This has happened a few times now. We have turned the panel off and on and are trying again in the hope we can shower this evening. I have contacted the boiler service chap to see if he has any ideas, or to tell me which part might need replacing. The control switches are older than the house as the builder put old ones in as his son was moving in to it.
Update - speed reply - may be my 3 port valve in the airing cupboard apparently, but would be happening all of the time. I don't think it is. Now to see which trade will fix it and how much it will cost.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Yay payday today. Looks like I have been moved up a SCP for doing my extra learning and tasks. It doesn't work out as much, but this month I have a little back pay from it too, so cant complain. DD1 also has been paid today (first time in 2 months) so I will be encouraging her to pay me her rent for this and last month. Although she has gone back to work and is then going straight to BF's house, so unlikely to see her until tomorrow evening now.
It was lovely not having to wake up early, even though I did forget to turn the alarms off. I have woken DS as he has his weekly driving lesson soon. I've made the shopping list - well 2 peoples names who I am not quite sure what to get them. I am looking forward to my lunch - carvery, so wont need much tonight. Might pick up a pizza for the children as a quick and easy dinner.
Next few jobs before I leave to meet friend are dishwasher and washing machine.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Had a lovely day window shopping mainly and resisting bits that I do not need. We had a lovely carvery and Ive not needed anything other than a slice of toast this evening.
Managed to find something suitable for one of my friends presents so that only leaves DD1's BF who I would like to get just a token something. I also need to buy some crackers for the table and then that will just leave the food to buy. Some of it I already have. In fact I think I have the main meal apart from the veg. I still have about £60 in the Christmas pot so that will cover it hopefully.
DD1 has paid her rent which was nice, especially as I didn't need to bring it up, she did it on her own.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Enjoy your long weekendDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

It is amazing how 1 extra day makes it feel so long. It feels like I've not been at work in ages and still have today and tomorrow. It's great.
I am nipping to see dad this afternoon so that he can chop my piece of wood I'm turning into a puzzle board to the correct size. I will then glue on the edges and hopefully be able to use it tomorrow for my advent puzzle. I will also wrap my sister and OH's gifts as dad is popping to see them next weekend for a few days.
Other than that I think the loft is calling, and we will get the decorations and advent bits down. Washing machine is already on working my way through the big pile of washing we seem to have. Lots to do today but mainly at home things to make the house look clean and nice. No need to spend money that is for sure.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Happy December - back to work this morning and decorated the main office to add some cheer to the place. Back in my room I was able to put a few decorations on my noticeboard, but that will do. Today went by so fast. Came home and DD1 has now finished her last shift at the coffee shop - which she is very happy about.
I have suggested that she has a trial run to her training tomorrow morning. I don't think she realises how busy and congested it will be at rush hour. She has agreed and has roped DS into going with her.
Picked up an olio haul this evening - local lady added extra things to our wants list so we have so much bread type items, and loads of mushrooms. Tomorrow I will chop lots of the mushrooms and pop them in the freezer. They don't look like they are going off at all, just todays is the date on the packet. We also have some vegan salmon which DD1 wanted to try and some green beans - again these look fresh too.
I did a small shop too but hopefully we are all set food wise for a while. If nothing else we can eat toast, bagels and flatbreads for the next week.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

I've got that horrible feeling that something big is about to happen. Life is currently ticking along nicely, and it feels as though something is about to upset that. Fingers crossed it wont.
Feel sleepy this morning, I went to bed too late last night. Good job I have lunch made (leftovers) and just need to get DD2 out of the house.
Hopefully no money will be spent today other than petrol as I need to do a bank run for work and the car is nearly empty. Right better get onMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19
