Replacement Conservatory Roof

I am looking at replacing the roof on our 23 year old Victorian Conservatory. The size is 3.5m x 2.5m. I have no idea about costing or best replacement idea. Has anyone had this done or are there any professionals that could give me a ballpark figure and best type of roof to look out for? Thanks

We had ours done, but also got a separate quote for replacing all the white units, windows, double doors and a single door, altogether with tiled roof was £8k,
Excellent job, units are great, much more technology and warmer too.
So glad we went for the more expensive one. Its like having another roommake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.1 -
mcneff that's a good price . but the foundations and brickwork are what make up around half the original price roughly . Freddie Victorian are in the build slightly more expensive than others but budget around 6 or 7k for guardian warm roof or similar . equinox do a good you tube video . ( both the same product) that's strip off . ring beam. steel . baton. insulate and plasterboard . my plasterer and electrician then finish . your roof would be 300 plaster and around the same for the spark 4 lights 1 switch and fix any plugs . HTH p.s make sure your original roof is suitable in strength to take the extra weight of a warm roof / corners are enforced and frames are tied together

We had ours done in October this year. 11.5 years old double glazed roof, 9mx3m double hipped roof. £13.5k. Excellent job, haven't looked back. Mainly had it done because we are ssw facing and it gets really hot in summer, but with the rads on, warms and retains the heat a lot better this time of year. Guardian did ours.1

We did this 3 years ago and it's a good job. But first ask your potential installers whether building regulations apply and then check with your local Building Control office.1

Thank you for all the tips.Theres stuff here I hadn't thought of. I haven't spoken to any company because they just keep calling you.Come the New year it's the next big project for us, so any other input will be gratefully received. If youcan lie down at night knowing in your heart that you just made someone’s day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day!!0

We had ours roofed 7 years ago after a number of houses on our estate were done by him and we knew everyone was satisfied.we paid about £5k. As someone else says it made a massive difference to a South facing conservatory making it cooler in summer and warmer in winter and a much more usable room.

FreddieM, the cost of ours also included 12 led spots on a dimmer and 3 oak beam cross braces. The workmen were really good hardly stopped. With plastering, the whole job took about 7 days, although it is a rather large conservatory. Guardian applied for and supplied me with the building control regulations. Excellent job, money well spent.1

If cost is of low importance then yes replace, however if temperature/sun glare is the issue then consider an insulated/ clad ceiling. Cannot describe the difference it has made. Cheapest qoute was £2600 ( small 12m2) researched You Tube and did an excellent job (imo) myself for £2202

We're having ours replaced with a 'Guardian Roof' system. We aren't replacing it because of temperature issues as we have underfloor heating, and it's west facing to doesn't normally get unduly hot. We simply can't relax during strong winds any more since one of our neighbour's roof tiles came through the glass just minutes after my wife had left the conservatory. The neighbour's have lost tiles 3 times during storms so I have no confidence that it won't happen again. Our conservatory is 14' x 10' with a pitched roof. Total cost will be just under £9k including lighting. Another larger company wanted over £15k for the same job.
