Not quite sure what your point is here. Yes, your score is meaningless - a fact that is highlighted on these forums time and time and time again, at least a dozen times a week. Any prospective lender looks at the data contained within your files, and cannot even see the score assigned by the CRA. They will have seen the defaults, and they are most likely the reason you've been declined (of course, defaults are only one element that go to make up your complete history, a lender will look at all the data and make a decision based on the full picture, and how that fits in with their particular lending criteria).5

I've now got a score of 800, it was a lot lower than that when I got a mainstream credit card and sub-prime mortgage, with a large settled CCJ, defaults etc.
As the sticky post says, it's credit history which is a factor in determining whether a company will offer finance.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
Experian! My score is 999,they proffer a mortgage, then say I don't qualify! Marketing tool?1

Well done, you have figured out something that most of us have known for a decade or more, have a slice of cake, and a guide to punctuation.4

Do you always have to be so obtuse to people?

I use the credit card soft search to see what happens. Once my defaults drop off in May I want to re mortgage I am earning a lot more than I was 12 months ago. A new mortgage is my priority i dont want any cards0

My credit was in tatters years ago...several defaults and a CCJ....had to go with a subprime lender at the time and pay extra for mortgage...my credit is now average and looking around for deals, it was my existing lender who offered the best rates. And no extra credit checks...
