Boots Sale

On this day in 2014 we all queued up for the 70% off Boots sale 😂I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.1

does anyone think 70% off will be happening this year ? I know its not important with everything that is going on but I feel a bit sad was always something I looked forward to xx1

I'm sure there will be at some point but I doubt it's going to be any of the "fancy" stuff. At mine, they just have a few bits and pieces left like Fila gift sets and cards and wrapping paper etc. I asked a staff member and she said we've got some more in the back but it's all the same as the stuff that is on the sale stand. There were no Soap and Glory items or even No7 stuff.1

Apparently rumour is out and about that the sale has started today with queues outside some stores around the country.
my latest update is that it hasn’t started and stores haven’t been informed yet of when it will happen. They have the signs to put up but no date yet. They have had to return the fragrance gift sets and the big brand beauty gift sets so they will not be included.
remember whenever it happens to stay safe and remember social distancing for your health and the the health of staff in stores.2 -

So much to read, so little time.3 -
I can see why people thought it. It's been the last Friday of Jan or beg of Feb for last couple of years. Tbh I'd forgotten all about it. There's very little left in my nearest Boots and I haven't ventured into the town centre one for weeks. There wasn't much last year either. It would probably be safer to not have it though.0

I'm not expecting it to happen any time soon really. Social distancing isn't going to suddenly be a thing of the past even with vaccines on the horizon. It would cause Boots bad publicity if there were hundreds of people out and about for it.
Wouldn't surprise me if the bulk of what's left is returned to the warehouse for an online sale later in the year once the sales have dried up.
Could also have dropped the price incrementally by going 60% before 70% to shift a bit more so there's less to sell at 70%.
Theres a few nice bits in mine but as always excessively overpriced in the first place. If I don't get anything this year it won't be the end of the world as I have plenty of stuff from sales gone by that could do with using first anyway.0 -
At 90% off, I might be interested in a very few items in my local shopping centre branch. At 70% off, would still not be worth bothering - it was so over-priced originally.2

As for the people being out their stores are still busy, apparently our local ones are 5 times as busy as first lockdown, so a one hit wouldn't really cause a stir.0
