Just heard that the Boots 50% Sale isn’t happening online this year due to lack of excess stock. It will still be happening in store with any leftover stock sent to stores in the first few days. There will be a clearance event but it will not include the usual 50% off Christmas stock

Just shows stuff changes constantly, apparently due to more areas going into Tier 4/local lockdown so they have had to reduce the amount of stock going into stores

Judging by the scrums reported in previous years, this is a really bad idea.

All the stores that I know are restricting numbers in currently and have plans to restrict further tomorrow so there will be more queuing outside waiting to get in.

my local store have been limiting to around 75 but have said about 15 tomorrow

I just happened to be walking past at a few mins to10 this morning & there was half a dozen people waiting for it to open at 10am.  By the time I came out there was a long queue waiting outside.  There wasn't much really but I got myself some Sanctuary, & Soap & Glory.

Very little in-person sales shopping will be happening from me this year, so hopefully I'll get some online bargains this year

I can’t see how the Boots sale will work  in store. They will have to seriously limit numbers to prevent a scrum which means the first few in will scoop up all the good stuff so it seems a bit pointless.  My local small store was short on gift stuff before Christmas anyway. I always find Boots Xmas stuff overpriced anyway

Me neither. It will be interesting to see what happens this year. I'm surprised all the stock has been shipped to stores and they've not gone with an online sale for this year.  My thoughts are that they'll need to do incremental reductions to 60% before going to 70% to stagger the footfall. I've said in previous years that I don't understand why they don't do that anyway tbh...  Yes, massively overpriced in the first place so no wonder people wait.

I was in a shopping centre Boots last week - lots on the shelves, fair number of people looking (certainly no "scrum") but not buying much.
