Advice on leaving xln

Options
So I’m sick and tired of xln price hikes. I’ve been with them 4 years , today I noticed my business bill had gone up from £58 to £83 per month. When I called they said it was because i was in the last month of my contact (shouldn’t it go up after that period?!).

I asked if I could go back to similar price for my current plan but they were not having any of it. I asked when my contract was over and they said the 2nd of JAN , I asked if I would be charged to leave after that date(I asked twice to confirm) and she said no charges if you move after that date. The call would have been recorded .. well I hope anyway!

I rang bt and setup a new plan with them to start on the 5th , 3 days after my xln plan ends so I wouldn’t get charged. Bt were really helpful and only £45 per month for all the bells and whistles.

I then get an email from xln saying if you leave we will charge you £299 for leaving and any other fees for lines and equipment!

where the hell do I stand with this? These guys are a modern day highway robbers! I really could do without huge fees this time of the year (even worse with COVID and my business is closed)!

XLN is business to business, most of which is pretty much do what the heck you like territory.

You might want to double check when your contract ends.  The email is probably generic reminding you that if you were to move away before the 2nd we'll charge £300.  Remember seeing an email once from them that although we were well out of contract still said if you leave before the end date we'll charge you.
  • I had similiar multiple horrible experiences with XLN when helping my Clients with their phone bills. Did you get it sorted in the end? I am in process of putting in a complaint with Ofcom about their procedures. Numbers says it all and I already have a couple of others that are willing to voice their experiences, so would you like to team up and get involved in this complaint??
  • I m having  problems with XLN.
My regret was ever going back to them ,they ve hiked prices up with in 3 months of entering a contract, they seem to be a law unto them selves.
I m paying more to Xln than I was Talk Talk .
This company seriously needs to be investegated on how they practice. Abbsolutely shameful and scandalous
Count me in with the complaints to ofcom.
