Wish I bought some Krugerands in the 1970, worth a bomb now
In January 1981 (making alllowance for subsequent share splits) you could have bought Apple for around 11.5 cents a share or some 8 shares for a single dollar.
I would be stinking rich if I could put a fair coin into that, or microsoft, Google e.t.c. If only we could travel back in time. Guess will have to make do with my passive index trackers

  • csgohan  -    I bought  several  Krugerands  in 1974.    If I remember  correctly,  they were  £73 each  plus 50p handling charge per coin.    I sold  them in the gold boom of early 1980.

Or if you had bought Enron you would have lost your shirt. Do you remember the FTSE100 darling Polly Peck?
