I know under the old JSA, you could still work while claiming. But after a certain amount (£20 I think) it came off your JSA £ for £. Because otherwise, there was no incentive for them to do the odd day of work.
So I would hope/assume the new style JSA has a similar provision. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride1 -
It does. You can earn £5 in a week then anything more is £ for £ deducted from nJSA.unholyangel said:I know under the old JSA, you could still work while claiming. You have to work less than 16 hours a week, but earnings, savings and partner's income and savings don't reduce it. A pension over £50 a week reduces it £ for £.0

This used to be the case, but has now changed.Jeremy535897 said:You have to work less than 16 hours a week, but earnings, savings and partner's income and savings don't reduce it. A pension over £50 a week reduces it £ for £.0 -
Although it still remains as working less than 16 hours per week, earnings of more than £5 will reduce the NsJSA £1 for £1.Jeremy535897 said:You have to work less than 16 hours a week, but earnings, savings and partner's income and savings don't reduce it. The old scheme that allowed work up to 16 hours with no earnings considered was open to fraud.0 -
I had that feeling, but could find no trace of it. (It begs the question as to why there is a need for a 16 hour limit, as 8 hours at minimum wage would reduce the amount to almost zero.)0

The 16 hours was in place before the earnings link was added.0

I now see it is in the schedule to the Jobseekers Allowance Regulations 2013
