Its no major deal to have the soundbar connected via hdmi so I can do that. Still curious about the hdmi hub situation I asked about. I may just remove whatever I don't need and plug in whatever I do but would still like to know.
And thanks for the info.Uptown_Boy said:Shouldn't be any loss of audio quality using optical. As to functionality - I don't know. I suspect they're meaning the ability for the sound bar to turn On/Off in conjunction with the TV - which means you'd instead need to turn each On/Off separately.1 -

jsmith9 said:JustAnotherSaver said:jsmith9 said:why? does the sonos soundbar have an auto-translate facility ?Who said anything about translating?Well while i do have a fair few martial arts movies with subtitles, my comment about the subtitles was relating to me being deafAlthough this is the internet a.k.a. the land of the literal, I am not officially deaf. I just struggle at times. Not sure if it's a certain range or pitch or whatever. I got sick of having to rewind a program/film just to see what was said as i didn't catch it so i just watch things with subtitles these days. When i was looking for soundbars i saw some that claimed to have a feature where it enhanced the dialogue or whatever but i don't know how well they did it in reality.0

Ah, yes sorry for the assumption - I assumed you were a foreign film addict!
Have you though of bluetooth headphones? I use them when the dialogue is not that clear and they do make a significant difference compared with speakers.0 -
