Dear Mr Lewis,

I would like to make lots of money the way Mr Nigel Farage says I can make lots of money. https://subscribe.fortuneandfreedom.com/X983WAUE/inv-go?gclid=CjwKCAiArIH_BRB2EiwALfbH1CUzjFGMJNrDtmgXf--khbKBvpu6ULfpBMEJLB9R-YTmPFb3kLA5exoC-WkQAvD_BwE

Should I let him show me how to take back control of my money or could anything go wrong?

He keeps going on about a "Brexit Boom". And 10 days ago in an interview he said a no-deal Brexit will make the UK £9bn richer from tariffs alone. So everything is coming up roses and presumably you should put all your money in UK cyclical stocks ready for the great economic surge.

If you still believe anything he says.

I still can't believe quite how many people were 'taken in' by Farage's pretending to be an everyday, beer drinking, down to earth 'man of the people' in the lead-up to the 2016 referendum when the truth is he is a very rich, upper class former stockbroker (I think) who probably knows a hedge fund manager or two and feels most at home drinking gin and smoking cigars with the likes of Boris Johnson and Jacob Rees Mogg!

I noticed this about a week ago and the adverts for this unregulated investment newsletter, from a regulated company, would give a compliance officer nightmares. In his teaser videos he was offering "advice" on "what to do". I do hope the FCA are showing an interest as this is running very close to the line and he claims to have 50,000 people signed up to get his financial messages.
  • I hope his new venture helps more people realise he's been a con artist the whole time.

"Nigel Farage has become one of Britain’s most successful politicians, yet an examination by the Financial Times of his earlier years reveals that the man who has traded on his pinstriped City gent image had a relatively modest career in the Square Mile. One of his metals broking companies ended up insolvent. “This suggestion that he was a very wealthy man in the City is probably a bit of a misnomer,” one metals broker says. “I don’t think he was anywhere near as successful as some people are portraying. He probably does better out of being an MEP.”

Hardly inspirational. Quite how going "insolvent" only counts as a "modest career" is not made clear in the article..._
  • I generally don't have a problem with Farage (there's no such thing as an honest politician), but this does sound dodgy. YouTube and social media in general is full of "fake gurus" claiming to have the secret sauce.

"there's no such thing as an honest politician". I'm not sure that is entirely true to be fair. Ed Davey, the present Liberal Democrat leader, is by all accounts a gentle and kind man who is usually pretty honest about most things. The trouble is he gets hardly any media coverage at the moment as the mainstream media appears to think that only the Tories, Labour and SNP (for the last few years) really count as political parties that matter!

He strikes me as the type of well intending fool who would advise us to put all our money into easy access cash ISAs. At least Nigel's bad financial advice will be interesting and dangerous...
