Best Option For Short-term Broadband?

I have had truly appalling service from my broadband supplier and finally cancelled the contract with them. However, this does mean that very soon I will be without home broadband. As I'm planning to move house, I really don't want to get locked into a long contract with huge penalties. There are a few companies that seem to offer a (quite expensive) one month rolling contract, but these are companies I've never heard of. I could try a mobile data package and 'mifi' but the signal here isn't great.

Are there any other options to consider? What sort of penalties do companies charge if you leave early (or couldn't take the contract with you to a new property)?

I would personally go for a mobile data based solution - are all the mobile networks around you poor.

I would try Smarty (three), voxi (Vodafone), giffgaff (o2) and BT mobile (EE) as I think the cheaprest payg type option for a month or two

I have only a very slow line based broadband available so have a used Huawei 4g router and monthly sim with unlimited data . Do some speed tests if poss first to see which mobile provider has the best signal locally before committing

Get a mobile sim with unlimited data.
Put it in a mifi or 4G router.
CEX has unlocked 150Mbps mifi for £20 or Huawei B311 router for £22.
