Good news,Virgin have honoured the original agreement. We now have the agreed Broadband & TV package, but only for 12 months then we have to go through it all again. So thanks to Virgin Media, bit of a shame I had to waste so much time listening to bloody awful Musak.0

So you have sent a fulsome apology to RB ?

Coming to the end of contract, contacted Virgin to see if they could bring down my bill from a whopping £57 for 108mbps broadband and anytime calls package. The gent said the best he could do was £44 with a reduced call package - did not put me through to Customer Retention when asked. Started an order with NOWtv and rang Virgin back to confirm contract expiry. Was immediately put through to Customer Retention who gave an 18 month contract at £35 per month (£22 per month discount) including the anytime calls package - I accepted as it was cheaper than what I'm currently paying (£40). I cancelled the NOWtv package (£28 per month, anytime calls, but only a max speed of around half of Virgin), even though there was £100 via Topcashback. I know that'd have made it a very cheap package, but I didn't want to compromise the speed and reliabilty I get from Virgin.0

Hi have just received notice of £3.50p increase on my £33 M100 and weekend phone deal, which then went up to £49 later in 2021, went onto Virgin live chat and explained about details ( apart from constantly asking do I want TV also which I did not ) came up with M200 and calls for £43 for 18 Months then £57 ( 18 Months is a long way away ).
Have now changed in 24 Hrs, sounds a good offer to me ?
ITS NOW CLASSED AS A NEW CONTRACT.

If it sounds good to you, got for it. If you don't need the M200 package though, you've been classically upsold.MoneyMate said:Hi have just received notice of £3.50p increase on my £33 M100 and weekend phone deal, which then went up to £49 later in 2021, went onto Virgin live chat and explained about details ( apart from constantly asking do I want TV also which I did not ) came up with M200 and calls for £43 for 18 Months then £57 ( 18 Months is a long way away ).

I threatened to leave VM a couple of months ago and in the end, got a price reduction by dropping voicemails and my broadband speed from 100 to 50. It's made no difference to browsing or streaming and I'm a few quid better off than I was, and over £15 better off each month than I would have been when the old contract ended.

If you just want to compare deals, this is probably a more appropriate forum:

Will the £43 not still have the price increase from 01/03/21? So it will become £46.?MoneyMate said:Hi have just received notice of £3.50p increase on my £33 M100 and weekend phone deal, which then went up to £49 later in 2021, went onto Virgin live chat and explained about details ( apart from constantly asking do I want TV also which I did not ) came up with M200 and calls for £43 for 18 Months then £57 ( 18 Months is a long way away ).

I also made the decision to go for M200 and phone line( B4 Contacting VM), had been offered M300 for £48 strangely £1 less than I would have been paying later in year. M200 is currently fast enough for my requirements. There are more questions than answers :shhh: :silenced:WARNING ! May go silent for unfriendly repliesPlease excuse me Spell it MOST times
