It's official I'M DEBT FREE! (besides the mortgage). I paid the last £500 off my card.
I don't think it's sunk in yet, I've been in varying levels of personal debt since I was 18, I'm 37 this year. I'm so used to juggling it, I've obsessed over my financial spreadsheet every day of my life since I created it in 2007, probably to an unhealthy level at times but it's helped me stay on track no end.
I'll continue to use the spreadsheet so I stay financially savvy, my next goal is to have the remaining £100k of my mortgage paid in 10 year.
How should I celebrate? Cut all my credit cards up? Close all the accounts down? Buy a mid-life crisis sports car on credit...? I kid!
Thank you to everyone in this thread and muppets for creating and updating it. Checking in here and seeing others progress has kept me going. The best of luck to everyone on the same journey! I will still visit the thread as it's been a huge part of achieving this goal the last 3 years.
