PCP ending - Webuyanycar?
Hi all,
Hope you can help as I'm in a bit of a conundrum.
My PCP is ending mid January, I have a settlement figure from the company as they have sent it in advance of the end of the agreement.
I was just going to hand it back as I've got a company car coming in February, but someone mentioned that We Buy Any Car might be an idea.
I did an online valuation and the value came out at £2000 more than I owe on it. Their website also says they will clear the finance on the vehicle.
I understand there will be some knocking down when I get there, but it is likely I will come out with something doing it this way, whereas if I just hand it back to ford I won't receive anything.
Can anyone tell me if they've done this?
Did it go smoothly?
I'm a bit worried that I'll go in, hand it all over another lockdown will happen or some kind of admin error will happen and the finance won't be cleared on time and I'll be on the hook for the finance without the asset.
Any help or advice that can be provided.
Many thanks
Gina

You should be fine, though they may well knock the offer down a bit when it comes to final inspection. You should also contact local dealers, if this is a new car when you got it then the main dealer for that brand, and get them to quote you an offer, wbac reputedly low ball their offers anyway so you may well get more that way and have more certainty.1

As above, don't restrict yourself to just WBAC. Ring around dealers and local garages and ask whether they want to buy or from you. Pick whoever gives you the highest figure.
I did this and the garage came to me to pick up the car and then wired me the entire amount. I then went to the bank the next day and settled the finance myself.0 -
Echo the above comments about not restricting to WBAC.
WBAC will certainly bring the offer down when they perform their 'assessment' so any scratches or dings, curbed alloys etc. If you do use WBAC be willing to stand firm if you have a minimum threshold in mind. A family member recently sold their Golf to WBAC..as he is a medic no expense spared and the car was immaculate with full dealer service history. WBAC as expected put in a lower offer after their review but he didn't budge and told them politely they could walk or pay what he reasonably expected. After a 'phone call' they agreed to his price. Just don't let them pressure you into a lower offer.
I've heard others say their WBAC offers were the best they got so I guess it depends on the car model and condition. If they want it badly enough they will take it off you. Good luck!0 -

Drove down one evening from Essex, had a look around it, transferred me the money and drove off with it. Easiest sale I have ever done!

DrEskimo said:Yea I used an old site called Tootle (no longer operating) which essentially allowed you to put up your car and garages would bid for it. I had the settlement figure in mind, so just said if they offered over £500 more I would sell it. Took a bit of back and forth, but a dealer in Essex had someone looking for the Audi I had, so accepted my price.

I have sold to the trade in the past and simply drove around local dealers and asked for a price. No issues with the "winner" then trying to haggle down for damage.0 -
Thanks all - much appreciated.
In any of the above was there outstanding finance on a PCP at all?
Thanks

We took my wife's Fiat 500 to Arnold Clark as there on line quote was better than WBAC. When I got them two or 3 different individuals went out and looked at the car and then came back to see what 'faults' I had noted on the application. I think they are so used to people not mentioning all of the issues so I think they were a bit miffed they couldn't find anthing that I hadn't already noted. They gave me the full price quoted on line.
So be realisitic with the appraisal of your car when completing the on line quote1
