Some people think this is the magical way to avoid the buyer have the ever powerful Paypal buyer protection. It can be worse. If the buyer initiates a chargeback for unauthorised payment, there is absolutely no seller protection.jsmith9 said:You could ask them to pay by Paypal 'friends and family'0 -
It is worth noting that a claim for fraudulent use of a card can be made by a scammer using friends and family, this is not well known and really only works if the buyer is intending to scam as it requires Making a fraudulent claim to bank which would endanger both the bank and paypal account of the scammer. This scenario has cropped up a few times recently, including once on here and such a claim, whilst being easily defended with a proof of posting for goods, cannot be defended at all if the payment was F and F.jsmith9 said:You could ask them to pay by Paypal 'friends and family'
I think it is a minor risk as it is a rarely mentioned problem and needs a serious scammer to contemplate doing it , but then a scammer is not going to be using f and F anyway and neither is any sensible buyer.
