    Good evening Slowly Fading,
I would like to join the challenge again for 2021. Target £12,000 but hoping to smash it again. I'm saving for FIRE.
    (Financial Independence Retire Early).

SF - I just read this years thread and realise that you will have already put me down for next year as I said I wanted to join again when I gave my December update. 🤪

I'm also aiming for FIRE - a long way off though! And no worries; you're in :D

Hi sf - I'd like to join this year, please :) We have several savings things going on but some will have withdrawals this year due to some work being done on the house. Do I report my.monthly figure as the net increase in savings in our accounts for the month? - otherwise if I did gross but then took out 20k for the building works it would be a bit skewed? And are SIPP contributions included?

I'm probably overcomplicating this for myself :D ......  Will set target when I figure out of I'm doing net/ gross figures :) x
Basically - it's up to you! I only count the money I transfer to my investments and/or emergency fund and that's it. But everyone has their own way of doing things - whatever works for you :)

  • Hi, slowlyfading,
I love this thread, please put me down for £12k this year. I might have to revise it down later but I'll give it a go.

  • Hi SF,

Third year and would love to get to a combined savings (from 2018 & 2019) of 10k this year. Im currently #51 can I keep the same number? My target is £6000.

Thank you for the work you put into this thread. I really enjoy being part of it and its helping me to also get to FIRE although I have a long way to go. Still renting which I hate! It will happen at somepoint I am sure.
