Min income floor during pandemic

Is the min income floor really coming back?

if the MIF is forced on self employed people who are not allowed to work due to on and off lockdowns then surely they should not be penalised?

It is currently suspended until the end of April. When it comes back people will have to consider whether self employment is viable or whether they intend to become jobseekers. If lockdowns are ongoing at that time a further extension of the suspension may be considered..
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

Nothing has been decided about what will happen after April in relation to when or how the MIF will be re-implemented.

It would be impossible to predict what will happen after April.

Where the MIF is concerned then we can't predict anything. No one knows what will happen after April, as has already been advised.

April may see furlough end which means new Great Depression unemployment numbers

so no I can’t see them bringing back MIF

In your opinion maybe. You don’t have a crystal ball.
