Missing deeds from before house was built??

    I agree that sort of thing is most likely, but without the deeds how can anyone know?
    What if there was something in the missing deeds that could change ownership if such and such happened?  If the missing deeds turned up then it might be the means to challenge the title . . .  except, as I understand it, a title absolute cannot be challenged (that's the whole point!).
    I realise it's all a bit academic but I'm curious how LR would handle such things in terms of the registered title and whether they would grant a title absolute on first registration or a lesser title that would leave the door open to potential challenge?
    Obviously the 'quality' of the the title might affect the value of the property . . . which is perhaps what an indemnity policy would protect against.
