New shirt caused reaction on my skin, what can I do?

I have never in my life washed something before wearing it. I can understand the reasoning but maybe my old leathery skin protects mepinkshoes said:If not, then no chance of a refund, as you should ALWAYS wash new clothes before wearing for this exact very reason - chemicals in the manufacturing process can cause skin irritation. I've had this before!
I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0 -
OP, did you see a doctor about the problem? If you want to prove that it's a problem with the shirt, you'll need some kind of medical evidence to back up your claim. You will also need to show that you washed it before wearing it, as this is pretty common practice and there's a lot of chemicals and weird detergents that could be used in manufacturing that could easily cause an allergic reaction. It's also possible to be allergic to wool.0

each to their own, but yes I always do. who knows what chemicals have been used in the manufacturing process, I would recommend anyone with sensitive skin wash everything before wearingelsien said:
I’m curious as to how many people do this - I never do and not do other family members.photome said:It’s been asked already but did you wash it before wearing?
If the OP confirms he didnt wash it , that may be the reason for his problems.
of course if he washed it ,its a mute point
Sorry, it was looking at me.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.5 -

I always wash new clothing before wearing - not for any reason to do with sensitive skin etc, but because I've seen some of the conditions in which clothing is held before distribution! The only exceptions are items like shirts where I'll try them on for size - and I only do that just before having a bath. After checking for any faults we also wash sheets and towels etc before use for the same reason.0

I think in the current climate where you don't know where it has been or who might have tried it on before you - then washing before wearing would be a sensible precaution and highly recommended.
**Not bought any new clothes recently - hence my previous comment that we did't wash them first0
